Lets not forget: Mark Jackson, Jeff Van Gundy, Charles Barkley, and Reggie Miller. These were dudes that were all abused by Jordan and the triangle...and they hate it, resent, and have nightmares about it. They don't want anyone to run the triangle, thus the propaganda campaign to undermine what the Knicks are doing.
They were dissing us all pre-game and during the game. Repeatedly they said that the Knicks were failures, that they could not change habits, the triangle doesn't work, players are more important than a system. They expected us to be Lebron's sacrificial lamb yesterday and that they would once again be laughing at NY basketball.
After the game, everyone copped pleas for Bron and still didn't give us our props.
Fisher played the right players, sat the right players, and managed player minutes like a veteran. Looked like Popavich out there. He did not go with the crowd favorites. He went with those that played their roles and ran the system. The old Knicks that underachieved will have to step up to earn playing time from our new boys...or they can start subbing. Practice time is going to be very important for everyone. When things got close in crunch time I saw the indecision about whether the triangle was working but by the end, I think all realized that Fisher was right and they HAVE made progress and are different. The system works.
Honestly, we made the Cavs seem disorganized. Kyrie, Waiters, and Bron all pressing, jacking up pretty shots, and showing their handles......but we played with more discipline with them. And we made them look sophomoric yesterday.
New day brehs....I hope they keep working. Its only game 2. But I see the vision.
