Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Some of y'all sound like the media, and it doesn't seem like y'all been watching. "He's not a 2-way player". Melo has been dug into defense since joining the Knicks. And if he's not a 2-way player, please tell me what superstars are? Lebron? KD? Curry? The only 2 that are legitimately 2-way are Westbrook and AD. He's completely ISO? He's been without a PG for the past 2 seasons. 3 seasons ago, they had Kidd and Melo was the best catch-n-shoot player in the league, percentage wise. He's also played off the ball when he played with Dre Miller and Billups. He's also no more an ISO player than Lebron, Curry, Durant, Harden. Beloved Dirk was an ISO player, plays 0 defense, a 7' that's a horrible rebounder and has been to Finals 2x with all ISO teams. Watch Curry dribble-dribble-behind-the-back-dribble-pull-up-from 3 then claim he's not an ISO player. The only teams that play Hoosiers basketball are the teams without a #1 scorer. Those teams also struggle to get a basket when they need one.

He's also averaged 4 apg a few seasons. Ball movement isn't pass-pass-pass shoot. It's also about moving without the ball. Your teammates camping out around the arc, waiting for a penetration-kick is still ISO ball. Ya'll need to stop it. You trade Melo and spend the next 5 years trying to get a player like him.

Of course you can build around Melo. Get a PG or a SG that can create their own shot, and a low-post scorer (they don't exist anymore) for him to play off. They don't have to be superstars

So many excuses :wow: first and foremost he's not a superstar as far as impact goes, secondly his defense is pure trash now, playing him at PF just because he can't effectively guard the SF spot on the perimeter is comedy. You just drafted a guy that long term projects out to being a PF, yet Melo's best position, especially as he ages will be PF, so in Knicks fashion they are probably going to throw Porzingis out there at center.

Also, you mention LeBron, Curry, Durant, Harden and Melo, ok now which one of these dudes has never averaged 5apg? Is it the guy with the highest usage rate of the group?

You trade Melo and you get a gang of players and potential picks for him, while also freeing up caproom to go after high impact free agents while your young guys develop. You're not winning with him as it is, basically just delaying the inevitable which is a full rebuild, only now you got this ball hog who could potentially hamper your young players development

Stephen A basically said basically what everybody else said "wtf you picking a 2 -3 year project at #4 Phil?"
Because Phil is smart enough to realize Melo is not a championship caliber player, I mean it's fukking obvious as hell, why build around him when the writing is on the wall? Face facts, no amount of patch work FA signings this summer is going to get the Knicks even remotely close to the Cavs, Bulls or Heat.

The Knicks should no longer be about Melo this Melo that, you just took a chance on a player with a high potential, everything you do moving forward should be about maximizing his potential.

The Warriors traded Monta Ellis for pennies on the dollar because he was getting in the way of Curry's development. If you want Porzingis to reach his potential, Melo gotta go, it's that simple.

Idk why you coming in here with all this logic and fact, I been scrolling past any comment about trading Melo... Idk what the fukk is wrong with some of these nikkas.

I like him a lot, but I don't think NY is the place for him.

I'll be frank, I hate Melo's game and I think he could stunt the growth of a player like Porzingis that plays off the ball. Nevermind the fact NY has very little patience for developing young players.
I agree melo is overrated in that he is a bigger iverson without the heart ( insanely skilled player who doesnt make his teammates better) but i think the issue with melo is that i dont see him developing, nurturing and leading a rookie ...........now onto the hardaway trade everyone is applauding and i agree we made a good trade but its worrisome that the pattern of failing to develop our young picks continues

This dude said you can win a title not only with Melo as your best player but simply role players around him will be enough :deadmanny:

Then bringing up defenders like Lebron being on Melos level defensively the same Lebron who can guard any position the same Lebron who guarded Tony Parker

First off :russ: at slipping that treadmill bulls team in with the cavs and Heat. The Bulls aint winning shyt either

Also Phil paid Melo a shyt ton of money and the knicks have no pick this year. Even if "future" was the plan its news to knicks fans since Phil's been talking about winning in his 5 year tenure as much as anything else. SAS wasn't lying if Phil wants to go futue he better act like it going forward in FA.
