@Malta where you from breh?

I find it funny that the nikka isn't a fan of any team in particular just a fan of power forwards and centers :mjlol:

I never in my life heard of anyone one being a fan of a position not a team - like ever :dead:

@Malta can we agree that Tim Duncan is the GOAT PF/big man? :sas2: @Public Enemies

You can :rudy: if you like but I'll take Monta over Danny Green any day.

Well, this is why nobody is asking for your opinion.

I also wouldn't over pay Monta either.

So why are you suggesting him?

I think in Dallas he showed he can play within a team concept and the ball dominant chucker thing is overblown.

So 50 games, versus his entire career?

Defensively he can't be any worse than Hardaway.

This is your measuring post?

I'd like more out of the 2 position than a "3 and D" guy. Sue me.

No need to sue, you just clearly haven't been watching the NBA in the last 20 years.
NY needs a shot maker in addition to Melo. Someone who can finish a play. 1 trick, spot up in the corner ponies? :scusthov:

Defense and shooting are two tricks. None of which our current roster has.

Shut up and go away.

He has a tweener body. His biggest weaknesses come from strength problems in the post and on the block at both ends of the court. He can get away with playing PF minutes but expect to watch him get abused against the bigger, stronger front courts in the league until he packs on more weight and core strength.

You're thinking about the game as a 1-5 linear roster situation... the truth is, rosters are more and more in flux, with more and more sizes and skills mixed in. Small guards, wings, bigs. Draymond Green is out there playing the 5 in key situations... right now, the league is moving toward flexible, smaller lineups. I'm sure Porzingis will play some approximation of the 5 a bunch of times when teams go small. And when they go big, he won't.

I doubt we'll see him guarding Duncan in a starting lineup, so relax. They're going to get him minutes wherever they can find him advantages... And if you have a slower big out there, who isn't proficient in the post (and there are plenty) you can put KP on him and try to use length to shut the guy down, and speed to score on him.

Exactly. All of this Melo at the 4 shyt was cool. But the fact is that we NEED him to play the 3.

Not really... again... flexible lineups and whatnot... there aren't enough good players on this team to NEED melo anywhere except healthy and in-shape.

He's more likely to play the 5 off the bench because the Knicks don't have the money to get a quality starting big and a quality big off the bench, which would leave Kristaps in the position to play minutes at the 5 if he's not starting. The Knicks lack depth, center is the hardest position to find in the league.
Dirk started half the games that year and was playing almost 30mpg to close out the strike shortened season. Vucevic isn't an international player like the guys we're naming, he played 3 years at USC :wtf: Again, I have more examples of foreign players getting a lot of minutes early and being successful, you named Bargnani to me naming Dirk, Parker, Ibaka and Giannis, shyt we can even take it to Yao too. I mean even the Jazz threw Exum into the fire last year and he clearly wasn't ready for it but it helps build confidence and lets them know exactly what it is they need to work on. I wouldn't give two shyts how he affects Melo, his development would be my priority considering I passed on Hezonja, Mudiay, Winslow etc.

Kristaps isn't ready to be a second or third option, but he should be playing with the starters, you have a 7'2-7'3" PF that is mobile, if you sign Greg Monroe he should be playing with him as the weakside defender just off the fact he's mobile as hell for his size and needs to learn how to defend. Also, Nerlens & Anthony Davis were both under 230lbs for their rookie seasons, you can get away with him being your starting PF as long as you have a center. There aren't that many physically imposing frontcourts in the NBA right now.

If you have been watching the NBA for the last three-to-five, you know teams aren't rolling out two large, strong post players consistently.

No.

No.

No.

This post had me dying.

You in your feelings, the bad man saying mean things about the fat ball stopper got you upset :Guidedtoislam:

This post has a lot of truth to it. People are getting real defensive over Melo, who acted like a bytch, himself - when the pick came down.

A lot of feelings outchea.

if kristaps not getting 35+ mins a game

that bird chested Lithuanian the future

Basically. Gumby Larry Bird gotta be catered to, as far as "Who are we trying to develop"

He's the focus now. That doesn't mean we want to suck, we don't even have a pick next year... but you have to keep in mind how best to develop Porzingis going forward. Not "help melo"

Nfs I wanna bring back Shump :to:

Knicks never should have traded him in the first place, and he's proven he can contribute to a playoff caliber team if put in the right role. I bet Knicks can get him for the low too :takedat:

Think we can still swap him for Faried? :sadcam:
