the dems HAVE to hold out and win this. don't fukkin fold for DACA

let the government shut down. it will fukk the economy up, trump will have to own that, and most importantly, he won't get the wall built. he'll end up having to ask the american people if theyre willing to put the wall before airports, public services, and eventually the answer will be no. repubs will have to fold

for the love of christ, please dont trade him for daca :mjlol:

You actually think DACA would be the driving force to funding the wall?

:russ:

No freaking way....

So, last night Trump and the Dems pretty much got on TV to say they're officially at an impasse. But something has to give at some point, right? Here's the current situation -

1. Trump says he won't sign anything unless he gets money for the wall
2. The Democrats say he's not getting the money, period.
3. Mitch McConnell says he won't allow a vote on anything the president won't sign, which means there's no chance for the Senate to overrule Trump.

Possible ways for this to end -

  • Trump gives in and signs a bill without the border wall funding.
  • Trump gives in and signs a bill without the border wall funding, then declares a national emergency. Lawsuits ensue.
  • The Democrats give in and give Trump his border wall funding.
  • McConnell gives and and allows a vote, and something without the border wall funding gets enough bipartisan support to override Trump (2/3rds).

Honestly, it's a tough call. Trump is too egotistical to give in completely, the GOP is too scared of their base to go against Trump, and the Democratic base will be pissed if the first thing they do after getting the house is to acquiesce to Trump and his supporters (especially since 60% of the country doesn't want a wall).

I think a national emergency might be the most likely outcome. :lupe:
Nah we need an actual wager bet through the coli. I need to make some money back from that impeachment bet :birdman:

I think somehow Trump will leave office this year probably from resignation before this is resolved and I am dead serious.

No:mjlol:
His ass would go straight to jail!:russ:
He probably going to declare an emergency
I would have thought he would have done it by now

Trump may be crazy but no way the rest of the Republicans leave the government shut down

the TSA could be the catalyst. if the airports shut down, this country is fukked  it's not like they get paid that much to show up every day and check sweaty, disgusting americans for nail clippers in their luggage

Between the TSA and millions of truck drivers the country's transportation network, both passenger and freight, are at the mercy of these poorly paid, frustrated and underappreciated men and women and it will all come to a head soon.

Where is the "It never ends :demonic:" option?

Dems agree to wall funding in return for something.
Ultimately I think this is what happens, but only if the the threat of declaring a National Emergency appears viable. Only that will push Dems to negotiate because they'd risk Trump getting the wall without them getting anything in return.

Like what? DACA? That would be a terrible deal for the Dems. :scust:
I feel like it's terrible for Trump ( unless he's getting the entire wall) - which probably means it's fair.

Why would the Dems negotiate when the national emergency orders will be tied up in the courts.

It’s a way out for Trump, but the wall will never get built.

Mass walkout from airports with visible fukk yous. Then it forces "emergency funding".

The top TSA officials had a meeting Monday on ways to try to keep us coming into work because the airlines were spooked by that CNN report on us calling out en mass. The second in command of my airport, a cac I’ve only seen once because the administrator was flying through LGA, came into my area to promise us time off awards and future monetary awards. They tried the hard approach by telling us they gonna keep track of who calls out and there will be repercussions and you know what happened? People quit altogether. In fact my job is hiring right now on usajobs.com. Don’t let Cheeto fool you. shyt will hit the fan come Monday. I’m telling you....
