plies revealed his intelligence from jump. hes always been a well-spoken dude.

his problem was he over-saturated himself, and his quality burnt out quick.
and he didnt get along with the label, so they didnt carry his ass after he fell off.

yall know when he dropped 2 albums in one year, he really tried to drop THREE??:mindblown:

I can't blame him. He was trying to get as much out his Run as he could. Ppl might not be checking for him like they use to but he still successful financially to this day

Black women fell in love with him when they heard "Shawty". That image was the reckless/ignorant nikka they wanted. Then he started talking and revealed he was educated which killed it for him. Trinidad James better take heed. I still listen to his 1st 2 albums.
I am the opposite. I thought he was funny but I respected him when I saw the breakfast club interview. He made it that he is not about that life and that it was his brother that lives more of it. He didn't say anything bad about anyone else and admitted that he's a quiet non-confrontational man.

And gates was the robber and Shooter. that's what yo bizzle( one of gates close friends) who was dissing plies on video said in an interview. They went to his concert and tried to confront him but plies ain't back down at all. Its all on YouTube .

I agree with @Blackthoughts tho. The women did fall in love with him

I choose to blame Big Gates for bein horrible musical influence,Plies start falling off when he became every thing he hated which was "a rap nikka"

Soon as he let people get in his head that he couldn't rap,and he started trying to prove them wrong by actually trying to have a flow and staying on beat,i saw the decline....Not to mention letting the success get to em and caving in to being more commercial....its not a story we haven't seen many times before in hiphop:mjcry:

But this thread aint fair to Plies fans to pretend like the Plies we stopped fukkin with as heavy was the same person who released 36 Ounces,100% Real nikka,Real Testament,Definition of Real:comeon:.

It was wack how fans jumped ship with the quickness after the 40 gloc shyt, but at that point you was already taking heat for being a Plies fan,but folks stuck around for the music...They stuck around through him being known as the wackest rapper in the game by ignorant masses, then he was known as being a "for the ladies" rapper by the masses....They wasn't stickin around after that 40 gloc "exposal" once the quality of the music declined like it did,at that point it was pretty much over.

:salute: to all the Plies fans who took all the pebbles, had the fire to they feet, remain unashamed of bein a fan of one of the all time greats,we still outchea:myman:

Plies' 1st two albums were dope, and honestly, when I heard how well spoken he really was, I started listening to him more. Unfortunately once I started listening to him more, he started dropping mediocre music. This also includes his flow changing. What happened with that? His flow on songs like Got'em Hatin, Ol Lady, Dat bytch, and Murkin Season are totally different than current stuff like Flier Than A Pelican, Becky, True Colors, and Outchea. It's like he raps with a sore throat or something. I've liked very little Plies music since then, mostly Leggo, Ritz Carlton, and Jump.

I gotta disagree here. He presented himself as a goon, that was his image. The 40 Glocc shyt just changed his image. That shyt wouldn't hurt Drake or J.Cole's sales. Drake got punched by Puffy and is even bigger now than he was prior to the assault.

Difference is Drake and JCole fans still love Jcole and Drakes music right now,if they fans stop being into they music as much I'm pretty sure a Diddy slap could make some of them be embarrassed enough to jump ship:mjlol:.

Plies makes that Boosie type "Life Music", dude should have never signed to a major but it did help him, but it just makes the gen pub think he fell off when in reality cats like Plies, Boosie, Pastor Troy, etc are eating WELL on the chitterling circuit.
