these police bucking on the army like this :why:

How you the army and you getting arrested :martin:
The only thing the military was capable of is firing their guns in the air. While the police are the arm of Edogan and would have no problems shooting them dead. They had no heart

You sound crazy breh. Sounding like the kingsmen and shyt :pachaha:

When it comes to Erdogan people turn into Alex Jones.

All I'm saying is all you people who advocated for a military crackdown on people's democratic voice I never EVER want to hear you bring up Chinese democracy and Tiananmen Square.

Did you feel the same way with Ukraine?

I actually feel sorry for the coup participants in this case.

They overall restrained themselves from firing on crowds or being as oppressive as they can possibly be in an effort practice their constitutional right of removing the president who is slowly overstepping his bounds.

That high rate of turmoil isn’t exactly an accident. In fact, one of the reasons behind the string of coups has to do with something baked into the Turkish system of government. As TIME explained after one of those coups, the nation’s constitution leaves the military with the authority to “step in” when needed; military leaders are not beholden to political leaders.

On the other hand, those same protestors you spared in a sense, are now beheading you and beating you in the street. They have no qualms about killing their countrymen.

No it doesn't make sense. People criticise Erdogan for authoritarianism yet were cheering on a military dictatorship.

Whether we on the outside like their policies or not, AKP won a majority and have a mandate to govern the country. You wouldn't "cast your lot" with those that want to subvert the people's political rights in the US, Brazil etc and you shouldn't in Turkey.
According to the constitution, the military has the right to step in to take over if the president is deemed unfit or not adhering to the constitution. Constitutions are supposed to be an guide for running a country that isn't influenced by the shifting winds of any political climate at any particular time. Particularly in this case, the popularity of islam and Erdogan's catering to it should have no bearing that the constitution is still being followed. Also its not like Erdogan has complete mandate based on the last election. It was nearly split 50/50 and he won barely. Also its not like the military has no argument that Erdogan is slowly becoming more dictatorial. Based on this information, they had a pretty good argument for staging the coup and its legally backed by their constiution.

Yeah. Basically every constitution in the world gives the people the right to fight against a tyrannical government. The problem is everyone can interpret those dispotion in his favor.

There is a constitutional court and there are elections.

Plus, for many years, the main request made by the UE was the end of the military's interferences in political/civil affairs.

I've read that it was basically a colonel coup, that was done 2 months before a probable military purge. Most of the top brass had nothing to do with it.

The Gulen stuff seems like a smokscreen. Their version of Trotsky or the Falun Gong.
