Like someone else brought up, saying, "Poverty is a choice." is basically indirectly saying black people are poor because they choose to be, you know, the largest group of poor people(by percentage) in this country,

In other words, racism has nothing to do with black people being poor. :mjpls:

Poverty is the result of undereducated people who have little to no examples of what it takes to get out of their situation. They don't have the skills or willpower, or families to pull themselves up. The few that do make it tend to be exceptional or who had parents or parent that sacrificed everything to give them the chance to get out. Its so much easier to just scrape by and enjoy the little victories that come your way. Look at these immigrants that come over poor as hell, their families band together and scrape by till they can start a business and then they all work at the business and make money. They do whatever it takes to save a dollar and don't worry about a big house and fancy car. They will sleep 8 to a 2 br home to make it. Once the business is solid, the next one up starts a business. 40 years later they have multiple businesses and all are living good.
Nah breh, this system in America keeps black people poor on purpose.

:unimpressed: yes, a fifth of black Americans chose to be poor. It's so simple.

And how many of us are actively trying to change our circumstances on a daily basis?

A lot of the suburbanites on this forum will agree because they’ve never had to be around the circumstances of growing up in squalor to understand how fukking difficult it is to rise out of it.
We’re not saying it’s easy. We’re just saying it’s going to take a lot of work, and too many of us are not putting in that work. I see the same people of various races working full time at the grocery store for years. They may not be living in luxury, but they have full time jobs, and aren’t on the street. Maybe they have a second job. My mom worked two jobs for years. Even my grandma, who had money, worked part time because she was bored.

Most black "suburbanites" are literally one generation removed from poverty or literally became "middle class" during their lifetime
