Just got an email that starting January 29, 2024 Prime Video is going to include ads.

For an additional $2.99 a month you can get the ad-free experience.

How much longer before we make it full circle to cable TV packages?

Some dudes on this site swore up and down that we wouldn’t go back to the cable model again, yet we’re essentially already there :mjlol:

The only thing that really hasn’t kicked in yet and it’s coming is those steamers going full throttle in trying to lock in customers long term a la cable.

I thought they already had ads for their other shows

Gonna bush it if unskippable immediately like Youtube trying to get you to watch 1 minute ads

I understand it on free shyt. If you’re paying then i don’t see the point of trying to put in ads other than greed

Yeah, it's completely BS.

Normally, when you pay for a service like Netflix you're paying to watch content without ads. Other services are free, but have ads because that's how they make money.

These people keep pushing back on their words and charging people more money, knowing people are hurting right now. Some real predatory shyt.

Amazon already took all these companies' business, but want to keep charging more.
