Well those are all well and good but give these a try.Enough to stick with my opinion.
The only one I really liked after that was Purple Naked Ladies

) have it all wrong. They got older and didn't recognise that the landscape had changed and they couldn't rely on the same outlets to satisfy their tastes. If people just looked a little deeper they'd find what they're looking for and more.Well those are all well and good but give these a try.
ZZ Ward - Eleven Roses (2012) Blends trad soul with a modern hip-hop feel to great effect. Has a great song out with Freddie Gibbs.
Yuna - Yuna (2012) - Pharrell produced half the tracks, has a pop feel but the hooks are great.
THEEsatisfaction - awE NaturalE (2012) - Has a strong hip hop/psychedelic vibe to it.
Teresa Jenee - Electric Yellow (2012) - One of my favourites from this year, takes what was the neo-soul blueprint and does something truly original with it.
Szjerdene - Patchwork (2012) - A more electronic vibe to it but definitely has soul, one of the best new voices out.
Sy Smith - Fast & Curious (2012) - She's known as the queen of underground R&B (to those who have an idea of what that is which admittedly isn't many) She's been putting out the goods for a while now and deserves her dues.
Rochelle Jordan - Pressure (2012) - Follow up to her much buzzed about debut last year, she's bringing back the 90's R&B feel in a big way.
Roane Namuh &Reva DeVito - Cloudshine (2012) - Leans further towards the jazz vocal end of neo soul but its one of classiest sounding records I've heard this year.
Quantic & Alice Russell - Look Around The Corner (2012) - Expands the notion of what soul has been in the past and can be defined as, if you're partial to a more latin vibe this is for you.
Meshell Ndegeocello - Pour Une ame Souveraine (2012) - One of souls hidden jewels over this past decade, hasn't put out a less than great album over the past 10 odd years, this tribute to Nina Simone is no different.
Melanie Fiona - The MF Life (2012) - I was initilally a bit skeptical about her but she released a great debut.
This is just from Z to M in my playlist in 2012 alone. When I'm ready I'll make a full thread with more recommendations but I don't really have time right now.
The point is there's tons of great music out there and this is just women. Tons of bands and men doing their thing too.
The R&B 'purists' (not directed at you) here that complain about how the type of stuff they like stopped being made, or that R&B died () have it all wrong. They got older and didn't recognise that the landscape had changed and they couldn't rely on the same outlets to satisfy their tastes. If people just looked a little deeper they'd find what they're looking for and more.
. I'm curious.
How do you find all this stuff anyways? I try to find new R&B but not too many blogs I visit break new shyt. I do have some of the stuff you posted already like Sy Smith (saw her live last month), Jessie Ware, Alori Joh but a lot of this stuff I have never heard of.

Check my profileCan you post some links to Sy Smith. I'm curious.
. Another great artist that I didn't see mentioned is Mateo:
That Xanax track off the mixtape
@ Anyone who mentiond Jesse Boykins, I'm usually listening to ole boy like
iTunes Genius recommendations
And I'm being dead serious. Either that or I scower R&B forums.
