easy to say but shyt get real if your parent has dementia or alzheimer. Taking care of them plus trying to work is damn near impossible long term. They hardly sleep through the night and you have to keep an eye on them like a kid.

The real issue is adults don't truly save a good amount of money for retirement so when they have to go to a retirement home it's usually a shytty one. I've actually done clinical at a nice one and it's night and day. Hopefully when I get old I can get placed in a nice one if it comes to that.

It is easy to say because of what I know with growing up. When the grandparents/great grands get too old, they come and live with you. The whole family comes together and take care of the elderly. :scust::scust::scust: While there are extenuating cases, this breh threw both in like they were some animals. I don't get down with that all :francis:

I had to do that to my dad cause his dementia caused him to walk off, while I was at work.:mjcry:.
i thought that was like 90 percent of this?

id never put my parents in a home as long as theyre takin care of themselves. but when it got to the point i couldnt leave them at home by themselves, or needed nurses all the time n shyt? idk :yeshrug:

also pretty easy for people to SAY "yeah i would never do that" if youve never been in that situation. but then again, thats most opinions on the internet :heh:

but for the record, i wouldnt be making a "appreciation thread :smugdraper:" about it :laff:

Just because it seems like a nice one don't mean it is. Even at some of the top assisted living establishments, paying between $8-10,000 a month the residents there still get treated like shyt sometimes. I've seen it first hand, it's sad. And it's not always the place itself but the staff employed there. Some ppl just don't the skills/patience to be taking care of others especially if their hearts not in it.
