I think you just explained a part of it yourself.

I don't think people (including you) take into account that the difficult / circus shots Kobe takes / makes is actually a part of his make up. It makes him dangerous at ALL TIMES because you never know when he might throw up a shot that ISN'T EVEN LOGICAL, it'll STILL GO IN, and cost you a Championship...

Until KD gets swarmed with triple and quadruple teams in the NBA finals by a defense the caliber of those 08 celtics, and STILL give them hell, I don't wanna hear nothing bout KD being a better scorer than Kobe.

People always talk about Kobe's lower than excellent shooting efficiency... Well I just explained how that's a part of who he is, taking wild shots that other people don't take, but the THREAT of him being able to make them opens things up for his teammates.

Just compare Lebron last year VS San Antonio, and Kobe in 2008 vs the celtics....

Kobe literally got Double / triple teamed EVERYTIME HE TOUCHED THE BALL.... Pop left Lebron Wide open purposely...

I know this thread aint about Lebron, but that just shows you the attention Kobe gets and its partially due to him taking wild shots (He's not a stat padder that isn't going to take a shot just so his % doesn't go down, ala LeFraud)...

And besides all that:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...ssociation_players_with_most_points_in_a_game

Kobe's resume of top scoring games shyts on everyone besides Chamberlin, and who cares about him.

People were throwing parades because LeFraud score 61, when Kobe scored 62 in 3 quarters.... Could've easily had 2 80 point games in his career, or at least 70.... Jordan doesn't even have one. I can argue Kobe is a better scorer than Jordan based off this alone.

Not much more to add tbh.

Kobe having stupid shot selection isn't a damn pro, it's a con. Kobe has shot his team out of games. People forget that despite Kobe being able to have a streak of absurd games, his lows are extremely detrimental and he's not very good at changing his game up when these lows hit.

People can't double or triple a Lebron like they do Kobe because Lebron has absurdly good court vision, is a very talented passer, and he feasts on weak rotations like puppy chow. Lebron's absurdly good vision and passing ability is what allows the Heat to space the floor.

Kobe has an edge in versatility but Durant is WAY more efficient, consistent, has more range, is a better finisher near the rim, is a better 3 Point shooter, and is probably the most unguardable scorer this side of Dirk simply because his length and height.

Nah Lebron could have never won a ring and still been considered a one of a kind player.

Kobe would have just been another scorer if he never won a ring

fakkitt:stopitslime:

How is he just a scorer when hes consistently at the top of list in assists for his position and rebounds. And in his prime he was one of the best defenders in the leauge

It's irrefutable that the mean sg fg% is much lower than the mean sf or pf fg%
It's also irrefutable that Durant scores more often and more efficiently than Kobe. Position doesn't matter in this argument. Neither does height.

Kobe is a great passer. Lebron is elite. Lebron averages more assists while averaging way fewer turnovers. Hell, Lebron averages more assists for his entire 10 year career than Kobe has averaged in his best individual season.

7ast for a point forward is impressive? he dominates the ball as much as a PG.

if a PG avg 7ast is that elite?

actin like he dont have the ball in his hands 75% of the time

Very much so when you realize he's also the primary scorer for his teams.

I know you like career averages so Kobe averages a higher USG rate over his entire career than Lebron does over his while averaging fewer AST AND PPG.

So Kobe has the ball in his hand more, shoots less on lower efficiency while not averaging as many assists.
