In Texas we qualified for the CHIPs Program for our first daughter her first two years, until we found a good Family Health Insurance Plan through my job (USPS).
As far as cribs, strollers, playpens, swings, we have huge families on both sides, we never spent a dime on these items. Some clothing was passed down but we spend a small amount, young children's clothes are very inexpensive. No Gucci or Jordans for two year olds, just cute kid clothes.
You will spend on diapers, teething items, blankets, formula and baby foods, more than you might imagine, so I implore you and your wife have your personal expenses in check.
Look into whatever Health Insurance Plan you and your wife are going to agree on, make sure it completely covers whoever you choose as your primary care physician.

You're doing it the smart and responsible way. Most people make in the same range as you and your wife but they'd rather struggle and pay everything on their own. That's why so many miserable and depressed people are out here. They're getting crushed by the day to day grind of affording to live here but too prideful to cohabitate with someone else.
This is what women call dusty behavior. Sometimes as a man....is good to support urself. Sometimes we too reliant on women supporting us too much. Yes we do need 2 incomes especially dealing with a high mortgage but some dudes just too much of a liability. I don't think it's good for either party to not have enough to bring to the table.
It's the cheat code to success and thriving out here. It's men that are millionaires and their wives still work. Why even go for a woman that lacks ambition or doesn't wanna help the household out? Most brehs are cooking, cleaning, already even back in the day when we didn't have many opportunities the women still worked and cleaned houses.
