The WU had a cryptic style that wasnt radio friendly

85% of the black population are institutionalized by the church and corporate america

And are drawn to sensational shallow images and subjects

WU lyrics were not for the simple minded

Blacks might get the beat...but cant comprehend the m Message

"The dumb are mostly intrigued by the drums"
-Masta Killa

85% of our kind is def dumb and blind- elijah muhammad

A lot of "real nikkas" gonna body you for that.

Whatever, Black people make Black artists famous in the first place, then cacs jump on the bandwagon. If they can't acknowledge this then fukk 'em. Trying to guilt trip Black people into supporting your music 40 years after you dropped your first record is corny.

The wu was booked to perform at an HBCU in a majority black city Savaannah Georgia but show got cancelled cause UGK was performing on that same date and the attention was on them

Method Man constantly said how the reception to him is never good in Atlanta and this is the "black mecca"

So lets cut the crap and realize that our tastes in music ha been defined by skeezers..hoes..ratchets..hot girls ....thots....and single babymamas

Whom in the words of chuck d

"Just wanna live thier life not hear all dat black bullshyt"

:manny:

Stop making excuses and start holding ourselves accountable

It's not about money, lots of black people have disposable income. They just spend it on other things, be it shoes or clubs or whatever. I dunno why clubs are more likely to have black people in attendance for shows than a regular concert.

Lots of black people do see Future concerts tho but that will change as he gets bigger.
Basically, because bytches
Yeah a lot of em do. How they support is DIFFERENT tho
Barely buy albums...barely at concerts...don't buy merch :jbhmm:

Club appearances?

Im gonna go out on a limb and say because maybe they wantes to party and watch women shake their asses, as oppose to standing next to a bunch of dudes reciting classic bars all night.

Theres a time and place for everything and if im young in college (just graduated) Theres gonna be a time where ima wanna go party with bytches rather than go hear some classic catalog shyt smh

that's another fact, if you young, single and in college you gonna be where the hoes at.

the internet
only time youre going to see a majority black audience for a hip hop show is if its some dusty ass club where someone w/ the name of "Lil <insert a generic hood name>" is performing.
If youre young, black, and dont want to deal w/ hood nonsense....you just avoid that shyt all together.

When it comes to media...the majority of the black audience under 40 likes really low brow type of shyt (im sorry, but its true).

You dont start seeing large groups of black people at shows in general until you go see groups like Maze.

Since cacs have no culture, they're willing to shell out money for anything that seems "exotic" to them. Most white boys get into rap with the need to compensate for the lack a masculine male role model, they use the Black man as a surrogate father figure until they realise they can hide behind their whiteness again.
Nah maybe we just like a hype ass beat and dope lyrics :mjlol:

First time I heard a hip hop song I wasn't like "What is this mystical, ethnic song-and-dance?". I just started nodding my head :manny:

And with all due respect.. I don't think the culture vultures are front row at a Raekwon show. They at home blogging about Liquid Swords

ALL major rap acts...ALL...have a mostly white fan base that packs their shows and purchase their music and merchandise. You can't name one MAJOR rap act that doesn't have a predominantly white fan base.
As a person that goes to shows multiple times a month. I'm making a comparison.

For example. I went down to AC to see fabolous perform, crowd was pretty much exclusively black and Dominican/ricans. Then I went to see inspectah deck and I was one of the only black people there.

nikkas in here insist on arguing with me like I'm not aware that white folks are the main consumers of hip hop and all genres of music. Some artists have more more of a white fan base than others
