This is interesting. I see a lot of people on her downplay success because "it's only cacs supporting them, it's c@c Music" etc but Raekwon is one of th realest still relevant OGs saying this. Thoughts ?
lol @ "still relevant".
Raekwon aint been relevant in 18 years.
For some reason black audiences support was new and popping and white audiences support support acts that have been around.
Look at the draw of legendary rock acts compared to the draw of legendary R&B or Soul acts.
Maybe that's why black music stays so innovative. They have to satisfy a fickle crowd.
every legendary r&b/soul concert ive seen or been to, is majority black. and that's for singers from any decade.
white audiences really just support the artists THEY LIKE. just like black audiences.
in terms of older artists, white audiences support certain legacy rap acts. usually big artists from the '90s. but go to an '80s rap review show and its mostly black.
I remember going to college in savannah during the early 90s and RAKIM and UNCLE LUKE were both performing that same night in two different venues
And unfortunately most of the blacks chose UNCLE LUKE
luke puts on a way better show than rakim.
its a no-brainer what show I would pay for.
The wu was booked to perform at an HBCU in a majority black city Savaannah Georgia but show got cancelled cause UGK was performing on that same date and the attention was on them
Method Man constantly said how the reception to him is never good in Atlanta and this is the "black mecca"
So lets cut the crap and realize that our tastes in music ha been defined by skeezers..hoes..ratchets..hot girls ....thots....and single babymamas
Whom in the words of chuck d
"Just wanna live thier life not hear all dat black bullshyt"
Stop making excuses and start holding ourselves accountable
WE DONT SUPPORT OUR OWN
youre just mad that people don't like what you like. you have a problem buddy.
how is this an example of "we don't support our own"?

is UGK not apart of our own as well? and do you not realize that you were in the south? if wutang outdrew them down there, then that would be more of an example of "not supporting our own", don't you think?
i'd pay for a wutang show over UGK, but come on man. cut the chit.
It's not about money, lots of black people have disposable income. They just spend it on other things, be it shoes or clubs or whatever. I dunno why clubs are more likely to have black people in attendance for shows than a regular concert.
Lots of black people do see Future concerts tho but that will change as he gets bigger.
black people are more likely to attend concerts at clubs before arenas, because the clubs book more of the artists that we like. especially nowadays.
as long as future doesn't change as he gets bigger, and as long as his fans don't think he fell off by that point, he'll be alright. plus, he already failed at the crossover before he became as big as he is. so chances are slim that he tries to sellout again.
ALL major rap acts...ALL...have a mostly white fan base that packs their shows and purchase their music and merchandise. You can't name one MAJOR rap act that doesn't have a predominantly white fan base.
this is FALSE.
stop trying to drag everybody down with your heroes.
Nah the current Wu fanbase is very white to the point of like 95%. Young black kids don't look up to them like they do Jay, Nas, Biggie, Pac, Snoop, 3 stacks, etc. And neither do the people they're currently listening to.
its funny how you dudes always try to plug outkast into everything. knowing dam well they have no place being mentioned in most of the convos yall try to plug them in.
aint nobody looking up to no dam andre 3000 breh.
