I don't care if Jesus Christ, Jah and Buddha called Eminem a beast, he still trash and the most overrated rapper ever. Rakim the God MC but I'd put money that he couldn't spit an Eminem verse if his life depended on it.

I bet more money on Ra not being able to spit a Dave East verse :mjlol:

Nas after 5 years was 1999.. he put out Stillmatic, Godson', Lost Tapes, Life is Good, Distant Relatives
Jay Z after 5 years was 2001.. he put out the Blueprint, Black Album, Watch The Throne, American Gangster
Tupac after 5 years was 1995. he put out All Eyez On Me, Makaveli,

all these albums youre listing aren't special. some aren't even good. watch the throne? distant relatives?

Nas' output while in his prime was shaky.
you listed the albums that were in 2pac's prime. he was just a rare case that hit his prime later.

Rakim, like all rappers who are questioned about Em in public forums, don't want that smoke from Eminem's rabid fanbase if they're 100% honest. It's career suicide. Eminem is one of my favorite rappers, but to keep it a buck, he's just great at rhyming words and cracking jokes. When those words are not paired with a Dre or Bass Brothers beat, you get mixed results. When those words are paired with a pop star, you get mixed results. When he's trying to blend rock and rap or try to be overly motivational, you get mixed results.

Songs like Dont Front or that freestyle with Tim Westwood is what I would like to see more of.

Rakim rarely releases albums. He's only released two albums during the entirety of Eminem's career. Why would he care about Eminem's "rabid fanbase" when they wouldn't even acknowledge Rakim? Furthermore, no rapper has lost a fan base going at Eminem.

This is true of almost every rapper. 5 years (if they're lucky) of prime material and then a bunch of meh or wack shyt. Of course if you're into a particular rappers style of music you give them a bit of a pass on average material, but its true of your favorite rapper too.
Nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

SINY!!
Its not a question of whether he can rap, put words together, ride a beat, etc. These are all things that can't be denied. What has kept him from putting out "that album" has been artistic direction. He hasn't gotten that from Dr. Dre in years (given all of Dre's ventures outside of music, and his own self-doubting about his own material), Rick Rubin oversaw his worst projects, and while he is highly regarded in music....it just wasn't a good pairing.

Having someone be the executive producer of a project, overseeing everything, helping to pick out the tracks, album art, marketing, etc.....people tend to overlook the importance having someone like that is.

Having the longevity, experience and clout that Em has earned throughout his career, sure he should be able to put a project together himself.....but some people like him need direction from the right executive producer. Not having that.....and having yes-men tell him everything is all good has hurt his legacy.

He has it in him, but unless he puts his faith in the first person to coach him in the booth.....we'll keep coming back to this argument.

Eminem's lyricism is something alot of people could replicate if you paid them to be a lyrical miracle not saying anything ass nikka honestly.

There are alot rappers with the same technical skills, rhyme showing display as Em if not have a couple of songs of them doing it

If they were paid or decided to be in that lane, what Em does they prolly do it better especially the Jays, Nas's, etc
