I just moved here this year.

It’s a great place to raise a Black family. Not much of a night life. But if you wanna settle down and live good, it’s a great town/city.

Greensboro a waste of time lol. They got a pitiful downtown with basically 1-2 blocks of vibrancy on Elm, then nothing. Spring Garden is the other nightlife area, same thing. Nightlife is decent but again, we're talking 1-2 blocks of activity that is heavily college-oriented...

Nightlife in all of NC's cities are kinda like this. Raleigh's and Durham's are only a little better. Charlotte has the best nightlife infrastructure in NC, but the others aren't completely trash. Just have your expectations at a realistic level...

Yea, I was being nice, but Greensboro’s nightlife isn’t shyt until A&T’s homecoming when you have all the alumni returning. Otherwise, you’ll be partying around a bunch of young mafuccas on Elm or Spring Garden

Depending on how long he was there, I’d bet he worked at or knew some folks who worked at RJ Reynolds. Tobacco has always been big in the city. My auntie used to get upset when folks talked about cigarettes, cause cigarettes paid her bills lol

I’ve lived in Miami, Atlanta and D.C.

So Raleigh/Cary is a nice change of pace for me. I’ve been to every club and function that ever mattered outside of NY/LA

Now I wanna chill.

I like the fact that I can take my son fishing or go hike on a trail. Then take my wife to a Black art gallery or nice steakhouse or jazz lounge all in the same week.

It’s spread out but everything is no more than 15-20 minutes away. Plus the people here are really friendly and respectful. Even most of the cacs.


I probably would have hated it when I was in my early 20s. Now it’s just what I’m looking for.

Only downside is it doesn’t have a big international airport. I’ve been trying to fly out to the west coast and they are TAXING nikkas. It almost makes more sense for me to drive to ATL or up to Dulles to catch a flight.

Raleigh/Durham will soon be an international airport. Delta rocks with Raleigh heavy, and although it’s not a hub, it’s a very important city in the Deltasphere and there plans.

I personally think it's overrated myself. There are plenty of places for adults to congregate and hang without being at a club
