I think Hezonja would be the guy over Johnson, your team is starting to place a big priority on shooting and he's the most dynamic Euro-wing in a a minute.
Could see that also, Mario was Dario's teammate in Croatia

No one ever said Steph was the best player in the league. He's the best player on the best team in the league, a team that is rated 1st offensively and 1st defensively. That should be enough to get him the trophy.

It shouldn't, but it likely will. The thing is, MVP awards are used as measures of indivual greatness after careers are done. People like to use MVP awards to put one player's greatness over another. If people use it in this way after the award is won, it would be disingenuous to not use the same criteria in making the decision who gets it. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Then there's no use in having it. Steph is a top 5 player on the best team in the league. That will get you the trophy 9 times out of 10 if you played enough games.

It shouldn't be that way though, it's not what the trophy claims to be. Just grew that way because of media power. Might as well call it the Best Player On The Best Team (BPBT) award.

Name a top 5 player that didn't get it when his team had the best record in the league. It can't always go to the best player.

I really don't see how Steph ain't the front runner for MVP. In the past I've never seen a team running away with a dominant record like the Warriors with a clear #1 in Steph and not have him as the front runner. Even in most of his so called bad games he's ending up with double digit assists. Him and Harden stats wise are very comparable. It just seems of late the big focus was team success and efficiency which Steph is the front runner in both areas. The only area I see Harden leading is the immeasurable area of how good each player's teammates are and how good their teams would be without them.

It'll come down to the voters and what their personal criteria is for determining MVP

If they think the clearcut best player on the best team should be MVP then they'll vote for Curry. If they think it should be the player who's done the most with less so to speak, then they'll vote for Harden. If they think it should go to who's been the most dominant player individually then they'll lean towards Westbrook or Davis. And if they think none of the above, then they'll give it to LeBron.

:manny:

I for one will be surprised if Curry doesn't win.

The MVP has always gone to the best player on one of the top 2 seeds in each conference

davis has done more with less than harden tbh. the pelicans would fall off completely to a bottom 5 team without him on the roster.

Dwight has missed the majority of the year, the Rockets without Harden & Dwight would be trash as well. Ariza as the #1 option :skip:
