Let’s see if Carlisle sits Luka as he has a rhythm at the end of the 3rd

Like he always does :stopitslime:
I get the logic behind why Carlisle does it, but it makes no sense to not adapt to how the game is going; he's been guilty of not adapting all season long. The trends of the 1st/3rd quarters organically happen, they don't happen cause starters are kept strictly to playing to those intervals.

He'll get away with it in this game, but it makes no sense to be this stringent going forward.

Luka plays entire 1st
Comes in halfway through 2nd
Plays entire 3rd
Comes in halfway through 4th

This is basically how Carlisle manages Luka with almost no malleability

He might sit Luka the last minute of the first or put him in with 7 mins left in the fourth, but his overall approach never changes. It’s infuriating

The 4th quarter is not the same as the 1st quarter. Almost every Mavs fan would rather Luka play only 7-8 mins of the 1st and play more in the 2nd half than this formulaic minutes allocation Carlisle currently employs
