Just saw the Dallas highlights. If they stay healthy they will make the playoffs.
Outside of Luka and KP (and at a pinch, Hardaway), they've probably got the weakest roster in the West. It's going to take some extraordinary performances from the aforementioned for them to make the playoffs.

In no particular order:

Rockets
Nuggets
Warriors
Lakers
Clippers
Jazz
T'Blazers

All teams which have superior talent and depth.

The Mavs will be competing with the Spurs, T'Wolves, Grizzlies, Thunder, Suns, Pelicans etc for that one remaining spot.

Easily. The Grizzlies starting unit is pretty bad too

Easily?

I mean it's only the preseason, but the holes outside of Luka and KP are already apparent. And while both of them are certainly talented enough to drag this team into the playoffs, I don't know if they're experienced enough.

In the games RJ Hampton has played against NBA talent, he's looking like a mere mortal; it definitely could affect his draft stock.
