That was the right option from Stevens; a timeout would've only allowed the Kings to setup/matchup, defensively. The problem was having the ball in Kemba's hands, who ended up dribbling into a dead-end and forcing Smart to make a play. What good is the Kings not being able to get set defensively if the offense is clueless as to what to do as well? He could've still called one once he saw what Kemba did. After all, he's done that before on multiple occasions. Not called a timeout and let them play it out, then once he saw they weren't executing, called a timeout and set something up.
