There was another timeout.

And no, that last possession was a complete disaster. The ball going in would've been bailing out their stupidity.
It looked planned...but Imma take ur word for it...cuz it's either an unexpected play or fukery

What good is the Kings not being able to get set defensively if the offense is clueless as to what to do as well?
That was more Kemba's fault than anyone else's.

13 seconds is enough time to generate a good look; it would've been different if it were 5-7 seconds (that's when you want the coach to call a timeout).
He could've still called one once he saw what Kemba did. After all, he's done that before on multiple occasions. Not called a timeout and let them play it out, then once he saw they weren't executing, called a timeout and set something up.
While I don't necessarily disagree with you on the bold, in this instance, Kemba wasted too much time bringing the ball up, and compounded it by dribbling into a dead-end (he was guilty of similar in Charlotte), by that time Smart got the ball with around two seconds left, which in that situation Stevens was best to let it play out rather than calling a timeout.

Kemba's more than experienced enough to know what to do in that situation, without needing Stevens to hold his hand.
