They still have Derrick Favors who mom just died. Favors has been solid throughout his career but he has looked lackadaisical in the games he has played.

Low key, Pistons are 1-2 pieces away; apart from not having an elite guard/wing, they have one of the most well-rounded squads in the league.

Yeah he didn't look great in most games but he was dealing with injury too. That is why you need a backup for Favors. Once he is out, you only have Hayes as your one playable big. They need another and Melli and Okafor are not it
