That's a failure on Denver's FO in not putting him next to a rim protector like Minny tried to do with KAT. People are placing more blame on the player than the team and FO for obvious reasons.
@Braman nothing you said there changes the point that the Bucks don‘t use Giannis as their rim protectors despite he being 7-feet tall.

Jokic isn’t a great rim protector yet the Nuggets use him as their only one because they didn’t build a good defensive team.

:mjlol:

That minny trade for Gobert is one of the worst in modern history …. They gave away all their assets, got worse …and now have a front court that assuming they even make it to the playoffs…will be unplayable together

Giannis isn’t a center…he’s one of the rarest commodities in the league, a super switchable forward that literally has league best defensive impact as a rim protector and guarding either the screener or the ballhandler in PNR coverage….for as great as Brook has been, he’s either gonna be DPOY or a close runner up, you couldn’t play him with Joker and recreate what the bucks do ….he needs one of those Giannis/AD defensive unicorns in the front court with him, and even then :patrice:the scheme you’d have to run would take a way from what makes thems special to an extent ….Gordon was Denver’s play at getting a poor man’s version of that, and probably as realistic of an acquisition that could be made….but it’s just a very short list of players in existence that fill that role….it’s a VERY difficult task to build a championship level defense around a center that’s pretty much the worst rim defender in the league and can’t guard in space…he is literally the profile of a player that gets played off the floor every playoffs…hard to just put that on the front office because they can’t pull a prime KG out their ass to excuse Jokic’s back on defense

The hit pieces trying to discredit someone who’s pretty much single-handedly led his team to the #1 seed in the West is hilarious.

I don’t recall the last time some shyt like this happened.

But-bu-but the media is trying to gift him the MVP.
It's a hit piece to use actual stats to try and settle the debate on just how good or bad on defense he is on defense? I mean how dare he use actual data and put it in context instead of just throwing out some advanced stats that nobody actually knows what the measure instead of using data that breaks plays down on a play by play basis.

Gimmick posters hop off the analytics train and get right into their anti intellectual anti data analysis bag when the information doesn’t support their narratives :mjlol: Its embarrassing to watch

I see no lies. You can’t name a guard from either the Pg or Sg position that’s been better than Dame this year. This is why staying on a trash team and organization can fukk you as an elite player..because u get penalized for being associated with trash. On top of that he doesn’t get much national exposure anymore. The man just had the best season of his career and they’re gonna just afterthought him..

It's that time of the year where every year NBA player will point to their numbers as to why they should make All NBA team. Dame has a point, but his peers are putting up similar numbers and efficiency as well, so his team record will come into play.

He’s been considerably better than his peers at his position….he really should be a no brainer first teamer but we all know how that goes…

I wouldn't say considerably better considering that his numbers are not much better than players like Luka and SGA who will more than likely make First Team and rightfully so.

It also should be noted that the's only played in 58 games this season, which can and should be used against him as well since his peers will have played in more games than him. So technically going by the new rules, he wouldn't All NBA team at all.
