Yeah, that move makes 0 sense. Play style, player timeline, money, none of it benefits OKC except casual fans name recognition.

Intention-wise Giannis actually does a mix of what Dubb and Hartenstein do… both play in silos away from Shai, who’s been more off ball this year.

i.e. Shai/Dubb is a your turn/my turn iso dynamic. Hartenstein holds the ball to facilitate for others, then swings back to Shai for bailouts when shyt fails.

So for Giannis-OKC to make sense, they’d have to keep Chet (move him to stretch-5) and get rid of Hartenstein, Dort and Dubb (rookie deal still).

That could work but it’d disrupt the power of friendship shyt they got going on
