I think y'all are forgetting that Grimes will not be back next season

This is still McCain's rookie year technically, he hasn't played a full year
I dont want to trade McCain, but we too deep this year. If he continues playing like this when Oubre comes back, where are his minutes going to come from?

There was rumblings that "Jaylen is becoming a ball hog". He decides to pass the ball more often to set his teammates up, and what are they doing with it? :unimpressed:

Oubre is a wing who will sometimes play small ball 4, I think Edwards and Walker are the most impacted by his return.

They need all 4 of their primary guards (Maxey, VJ, Grimes, McCain) to share ball handling responsibilities

And also y’all know our luck with injuries and how things can turn in a heartbeat, I think y’all are being a bit shortsighted because of frustration with Jared’s progress coming back from injury

Edwards minutes are already non existent. Walkers minutes are gone as soon as Watford comes back (somebody else who can handle the ball)

The ball handling isnt the concern, its the defense. You cant be the worse defender on the court every night while shooting 32% from 3.

Im not on the trade McCain train so i wouldnt call it shortsighted. This season he needs to get in where he fits in, pause, and hope for a bounce back season next year when Grimes is gone.

Its still a long season tho, he has time to turn it around

Kawhi must be eligible for a new contract extension, I ain't falling for it
I think he's impossible to trade. Nobody's gonna give up much because you don't know if he's gonna show up and say, "I'm only playing on Tuesdays." And it makes no sense for LAC to give him away when he's still playing this well; they're in too deep.

But...I could make a case for the Cavs. I don't believe it's really possible with this second apron garbage and I highly doubt Cleveland would consider my proposal: essentially a Mobley for Kawhi swap. Going further, Mobley and Garland for Kawhi and Zubac.

This group for Cleveland is not gonna get it done together. I've always been skeptical of Mobley and the thought of paying him $61 million in 29-30 is

LAC doesn't really have any better options though. They don't control their own pick UNTIL 2030.

Cleveland needs to make a push by the end of next season because Mitchell can opt out in 2027 and they are fukked without him.
