It’s not simple and unless internal development happens you’ll have to give up some key pieces to get it

Truthfully won’t know for sure until they go through this playoff run. Depth matters and the committee approach but you also need a guy that is dependable

The problem with Markkanen is Ainge will want a King’s ransom and nothing less. He’s not making a trade unless he feels like he’s finessing
You not wrong on any parts. I think Trajan is leaning towards improving the overall roster with smaller moves like more shooting, which is a real need, if I had to bet on a move. I don't know how much of a risk he wants to take right now with so much youth that has proven to be developing well and making major strides in such a short amount of time. This team that won 16 games just 2 years ago is now on pace to win 60+ without any major roster overhauls or free agent signings. They don't have to rush to make any rash decisions, regardless of the media pressure to do so.

But I do love the idea of adding Trey Murphy if Dumars and Weaver give us that Mchale to Ainge hookup on some forever a Piston shyt:lolbron:

It's interesting because last year, the Thunder's 2nd option was honestly their defense (points off turnovers). Their inconsistent 3rd options were (3a) JDubb and (3b) their collective spot up 3pt shooting.

Then with the Pacers, ppl get lost in the Hali injury that they forget Siakam was actually their best player... ECF-MVP and very probable Finals MVP had they won. IND's 2nd option was... often collective 3pt shot making fukkery. Shades of that 8th seed Heat team Butler took to the Finals.

So there are use cases DET can follow where a bonafinde 2nd option isn't "necessary", as they do have the suffocating defense to generate points... but they probably need 1 or 2 more premiere shooters
Exactly. People parrot the roster strategies of of years past while ignoring the successful model right in front of them in present times. I don't know if it WILL work, but there's evidence that it can. And even if you are a slave to the past success, Detroit used this very model for their last championship while taking down the traditional model. There's precedence for it to work.

Who?

And I love B-Ball Paul. I call it the Paul Reed experience whenever he gets extensive minutes, cause he gone do at least 1 bonehead thing that's some borderline Shaqtin-a-fool shyt, but then he pile on quality play after quality play to the point you damn near forget the goofy shyt he did. One of the greatest value contracts in the league.

i for real think social media influences GM's more than anything. in the 2020s, u see "Fire the coach" for any given team for a season or two, and that coach will get fired. it's unbelievable. These past 5 years, i aint never seen coaches get fired so often in the NBA

I mean, they made the ecf. Had them playing with some fire. To go from Thibs to Mike Brown is too extreme.

Do y'all think it might be Jalen Brunson?

I feel like it's the Isaiah Thomas on the Celtics effect. A player that can raise the floor on a absolutely bad team, but can not raise the ceiling and be your number #1 option on a championship contender because of the glaring weaknesses, and the amount things a team has to do to cover for it
