You’re making the assumption everyone wants and needs “up-to-date” products. Most of the population doesn’t need the features that are being added to these services and software, but the companies need the average consumer to purchase it anyway to cover the cost to develop these new features for the small population that actually benefits from them. Most people use Microsoft Word for the most basic functionality and would be just fine using the same version of the software for 10 years. It isn’t professional photo editing software or professional audio recording software.

The audacity of calling consumers ungrateful because we don’t want to pay for something we don’t need and didn’t ask for, lol. Sounds like a greedy corporation.

My response was directly to what YOU said and I didn’t sidestep anything and didn’t argue a baseless point, lol. Wtf? Lol. And I don’t pay for any subscription services except for Netflix and Spotify. Regarding word processing software, almost all free alternatives allow you to save a document in .docx or .doc format, so I don’t need MS Office. Otherwise I just use my work provided MS Office.

It doesn’t change the fact that the subscription model is just another corporate money grab and there is very little benefit to the average consumer. But at the end of the day it’s about lining the pockets of shareholders, consumer be damned. It’s the way of capitalism… which is pretty much the point of this thread regardless of what BS justifications you come up with

I don't know, because i don't care. All my music library was converted to mostly digital before all this bullshyt anyways... Plus i brought whatever I want from Amazon music. I'd about spotify or the discorvery option

- You rent an apartment with a 12 month lease? Why don't you just pay the value of the contract for the whole year as soon as you move in? You don't, you pay rent aka subscriptions
- You own a home, why can't you just pay full price for it the first day you move in? Oh that's right you make monthly mortgage payments aka subscriptions
- Why don't most people pay full price for a new car? Oh yeah they pay monthly lease payments or pay month car note payments aka subscriptions
- You want that new large furnace installed in your home? Why not just pay the full amount upfront? Oh yeah you're gonna get financing and monthly payments aka subscriptions

Companies are the ones who create products and make it easier for the customer to purchase that improves the quality of their lives. You mad about how the company is run and their shareholders, create a product yourself
