Rap as a whole, minus a few artists in certain pockets, ain’t been shyt in over 10 years if we’re all being objectively honest. That’s underground and commercial.
Son u don’t know what u talkin bout cause u clearly wasn’t around. The problem I have with u is that u speak in absolutes like u really be knowin what the fukk u be talkin bout.Rap has never not been repetitive

Not to single you out but mainstream hip-hop isn’t in a great place, I’d argue the indie and underground scene is the best it’s been since the Rawkus days. He's not wrong. Most people aren't historians nor heads like us to dig. So it appears everybody copying one or two sounds. I havent been excited by the xxl freshman magazine cover in years.
I know who breh is lol. Doesn't mean he's wrongHe’s not even a historian. Dude’s breakout song was“Say It” and he never even heard the original Brownstone song he sampled.
I'm not anti mainstream, just a lot of these younger acts sound alike. I'm not mad but would love more diversity. I keep up to stay relevant but I enjoy more r&b and soul these days. Who are some good underground acts besides the ones usually championed on here like Griselda and roc Mariano? Not to single you out but mainstream hip-hop isn’t in a great place, I’d argue the indie and underground scene is the best it’s been since the Rawkus days.
It’s tough because you have to find so much of the dope music on your own, or know someone to put you on, but I’ve enjoyed more hip-hop projects from 2018 and 2019 than I have since the early 00’s.
Again, most of it isn’t thrown out there to easily find, and there’s a lot of bullshyt to sift through due to technology removing the barrier to entry. But there’s some absolutely incredible hip-hop being made these days.

And bytch you're one of the problems!![]()
