You have to be retarded or a pure liar to say Hiphop has no influence on Black Culture.

Hip hop was always used as a product placement...

Wu-Tang, Nas, and Mobb Deep made timbs popular and hasn't gotten a dime to this day

Run D.M.C wore Adidas and the prices went up astronomically

Nelly rapped about AF1's and made em popular...Nike hasn't even made a endorsement check.

A rapper like Lil Wayne can attract more folks in a school gym nowadays rather than someone like a Dr. Umar Johnson or Chuck D.

Only low intelligence people have rappers as the Most Respected, Admired, Imitated and Worshipped people in their lives.

These people will be weeded out. Its just basic social darwinism at work (or whatever you want to call it).

What has harmed the black community is far deeper than some bum ass rappers and entertainers.

Did rock'n roll destroy the white community?
:why:

The only thing that has "hurt" the black community is systematic racism.

I was ready to fight with you because I agree with this 100%

Then you brought up MLK :francis:

And it reminded me that that’s the real problem …

“They” killed all of our leaders and cultural icons or sent them yo prison. They offered incentives to black women to break up black families putting men out of homes. They limited access to jobs or took jobs away and created a black underclass. They limit housing opportunities to minorities despite having laws in place against it. They underfund schools in black areas to compound the problem. They limit access to healthcare and green and safe spaces. They own the companies and distribute poisonous music and disincentivize any artist not following the program.

And yet we blame MLK for trying his best to stop the harmful practice of Jim Crow for the ills in the black community.

Truth be told in hindsight this thread is just as bad as any rap song because it’s sending the wrong message.

Rappers are not the Most Respected, Admired, Imitated and Worshipped People in the Black Community.

Please stop making threads like this.

Are you sure? Do you have teenagers? Have you been around teens and twenty somethings over the past decade at least? This thread is real. We as a community certainly do prop up the worst of worst.

Was rock and roll about killing the opposition and riding for your set? We’re they glorifying selling drugs and the violence that goes along with it? Does rock and roll pretty much tell women to be prostitutes?

Of course it’s nuance involved but as a culture we definitely do embrace some bullshyt. And yes it took me maturing a bit to understand that. I’m hoping that others can realize it sooner.
