Beyonce' is a decent performer, but she's a vocal powerhouse. Janet is a decent singer, but a great dancer. Beyonce' performances never really did it for me, basic moves, a little ass shaking here and there. Her production is more so the show rather than her actual performance

I seee what your saying, its more the aesthetic, the wardrobes stage lights etc which I would agree with. But I would say in terms of actual dancing that Beyonce isn't on the level of say a Janet,Mya,Tinashe,Lil Mama but I could be wrong. I've just never really seen her get down and dirty like the ones I listed. Its like she's always wants to make sure she stays glamourous while dancing. Also I hate that Michael Jackson has caused great performing to basically equal dance+choregraphy.
:heh: Nikkas is trippin.

MJ is the only entertainer that comes before Beyonce in music history.

Exactly what I said above,Beyonce definitely doesn't belong in a top 10 when speaking of all time, both genders.
Is Jimmie Hendrix,Prince,Chuck Berry,Stevie Wonder not great performers they wowed crowds with instruments.
What about singers who could be on a stage and silence a crowd with vocal performances like a Whitney? And I'm not putting Beyonce over Bobby Brown:heh:
Of this modern era where the aesthetics are important she is very high up there. I'd say her husband is better than her as well though.

edit-taking nothing away from Michael either btw,he was legit a god.

You know
I have to apologize to Ms. Jackson because a few threads ago, I said Mariah and Brandy kinda had the 90's on lock when it came to success. I forgot about Janet. The numbers this woman was doing were crazy.

The Control album had 7 singles and 5 of those were top 5 hits on the Hot 100 Billboard. That shyt is crazy.

Rhythm Nation had 8 singles. 7 of those were top 5 hits on the Hot 100 Billboard. And 4 of which were all #1's. Thats MJ/Mariah numbers breh. Unbelievable chart success.

The Janet album had 8 singles and 6 of those were top 10 hits with 2 of em being #1's.

We talk about Mariahs 1st 3 albums and Toni's 1st 3 albums being great runs but Janet may have eclipsed them all cause her 1st 3 are classics too. And it ain't just no pop shyt either. She was killing that R&B wave too. Anytime Anyplace, I Get Lonely, The Way Love Goes.

Those 3 albums were her prime. Untouchable GOAT shyt.

Then came back in 2001 with another #1 hit All For You.

Janet is not a vocalist by any means, not by any stretch. However, she more than makes up for it with her songwriting, overarching themes in her music, production and an iconic 5 (arguably 6) album run. I prefer Janet’s unique, subdued tone to Mariah, Whitney(rip) etc. who are more concerned with showing off their dog whistles then creating layered, complex music. I hate Madonna, but like Janet, she makes sonically cohesive albums...despite being a weak singer.

Let’s do it for the culture

Imagine people say you’re lacking in the performance department, but get nominated for 6 Emmys for a documentary based off you’re performance

This is according to todays standards..

Performing is a lost artform in today's society.. It was easy for her to win this.

Coming from a motown background, Janet's focus was performing.. That was the only way to make it back then. Ya girl is the last of the performance mohicans, and that keeps her relevant..

Beyonce would've downed in the 80s breh.:manny:
