I love Monica. Her voice is distinct which I am a fan of. She's been in the game for a minute. Her voice definitely plays a part in that. I gave her a 7. I feel like 7 and up are really great singers.

I think Monica vocally is a 6/10. She's a good well balanced singer and she has a few classics songs in her catalog but I think Brandy is the better singer and artist. I don't think Monica has a classic album and anything she did post 2000 was pretty forgettable, the music industry tried to post her up as a sort of foil to Brandy's girlish innocence but it didn't work like that. I respect her hustle and never give up attitude though.

can you explain this in further detail? Because I have heard people say Brandy is the better singer as well. For me, Personally I always have liked that strong gospel type voice. I guess that's why I always preferred Monica.

Monica is a talented singer singer but Brandy had a lot more range and its kind of crazy because she was considered a top vocalist amongst her peers and she hadn't even matured into her voice really until her 3rd album. I think what helps her case too is that she could weave in and out that sort of Mary J lane or knock you down with a old school style ballad do each equally well.
