imagine the company you in when Raven is your prophet

Raven was right. Why do we call ourselves AA? All of the family we known and loved were born here, plus by the Civil War, the avg slave was at least 3 generations removed from Africa.

I’d rather be called African than American if I’m being honest

Me and Raven the opposite on this one… I understand we are “American” but who’s to say it was by choice…?

So many of us were legit stolen and sold to America and while we helped shape and mold America, this evil ass country has always had it out against us… :damn: :pacspit:

Id much rather be African royalty

Than looked at as a fukkin 2nd class American
Interesting perspective. The other side to the debate is how everything one’s family has built — memories, traditions, businesses, families — has been on American soil. Why take pride in a piece of land only your ancestor MAY have been on, and a place that current day may or may not embrace you?

This is what makes Black/African-Americans a unique group separate from others imo.

Whichever identity anyone chooses I respect.

I just don’t like her, she seems like a bytch. Orlando Brown is whacked tf out but I believe the things he says about her. Adrienne Bailon never liked her ass either.

Africa is a continent.

American is her nationality.

Her race is Black.

She can be specific and say she is a Black American.

The label "African American" includes any race and nationality from the continent...and sneakily mutes American Blackness which is by design.

1. Black.
2. Black American.
3. African.
4. American.

Are ok by me... not African American.

Different time. This was in the midst of Ferguson, tamir tice and freddie gray.
Oh believe me I know. Back when people were actually outside and organizing, pushing support for Black owned businesses, protesting the anthem, etc.

And then Youtube streams, Clubhouse and Twitter bullshyt hit the fan. Never forget, before any of these acronyms came about, it was B.I.E.
