almost 2016 and people still don't know you can play PC games on a HDTV with a controller

I have a 25 HDMI running from my entertainment stand, through the ceiling and over to my 60"...fukk a monitor. I built my system 4 years ago for a total of $570 (no monitor) and just 4 months ago sold my original GPU (Radeon 6870) for $75 and paid $230($155) for my R9. i5-2500k, R9 290, 8GB RAM pushes anything you throw at it on ultra with about the same damn frame drops as my PS4 and X1.

I have both consoles, but what's your excuse for now having a PC again?

Make sure you take advantage of the Holiday steam sale. You can pick up a lot of games real cheap.

OP thinks it's all fun and games. He doesn't know the effort PC gaming takes yet. He'll see. Plus, he's going the AMD route. Be prepared for shytty performance and driver problems in certain games. You gotta be about that life. Editing ini files, running benchmarks, not being able to figure out a problem for days, weeks, months. shyt is not for the weak.

I'm not trying to scare away people from PC gaming, but it can be stressful at times.

I like PC games but there are many console exclusives that are never coming to PC so if you're a big gamer, you should still pick up at least one of the current consoles.

To answer this for me is this;

For one.... I absolutely HATE PC's, I'm a MAC guy and PC's just fukking suck! When I used to have PC's them shyts used to catch viruses, fukk up, overheat, etc all the time. I went through so many PC's till I finally got a MAC.

With that said, MAC seem to be so much more and above gaming on them.

Also, my friends have consoles so why would I go against the grain?

Not to mention there are no PC games that interest me and the cross platform games, why not I just buy a console?

I don't even see what the big deal is with people making out PC gaming to be. It's just literally your home computer with the added benefit of being a gaming center. I literally use my PC for everything.

Those are the reasons.... I hate you master race dudes yall act like just because keeping a cpu up to date and troubleshooting issues isn't a big deal to YOU that we all should feel the same way... You mentioned overclocking, there was a conversation here about upgrading their video card, someone said fallout 4 has a lot of crashes, installing mods aren't easy and aren't always done the same way some of these mods require you to change sytem files on the game, shyt half of them don't work or cause your shyt to run slow... fukk ALL THAT!!!!!!!!
I buy a console yea it may be technically inferior graphically and yes the mods are cool but the average person aint trying to think about ANY of that shyt you have to do on pc, they just want to turn on the game and play not troubleshoot not upgrade their card to get optimal performance not overclock we just want to sit back and play...

Then you say well its not that expensive all you have to spend is like 2-300 on a card then 15-200 on a board and processor then a controller cause mouser and keyboards are for typing not playing games, then you have to spend about a 100 on a hdd 30-40 on a case then in two years have to upgrade your card to get these slight added bonuses, while a ps4 only requires 350-400 once and a yearly 50 fee and you never have to spend money to play a new game again
