I wouldn't call Manu "automatic" but he will get in as he has been one of the bigger global stars of basketball for the past decade or so. Best player on an Argentina squad that went toe to toe with the US, critical player in three Spurs titles, impacted the game with this dribble and style, etc. Basketball Hall of Fame is easy to get into compared to other sports, so he is in

:dahell: before he threw game 6 and 7 :troll: dude was instrumental in all of those titles outside of 99 of course. Even if you take out his last few years in the nba he is getting easily. Hell Yao Ming was getting considering as a contributor to the game

Comparin' Gasol and Parker's HOF resumes to Ginobili's is just flat-out disrespectful IMHO

How so? Manu has the same amount of rings as Parker and 1 more than Pau. He's usually produced in the playoffs year in and year out. He's a 2 time all star and 2 times 3rd team All Nba. I think because of the last couple of seasons and especially in the Finals people have forgotten how good Manu was in his prime. And his numbers don't look that good cause he usually came off the bench and usually didn't even 30 minutes a night. If he would have gotten minutes like other stars do Manu would have been a 20 5 and 5 player year in and year out.

Like I said, he's borderline. If it were me, I'd probably not put him in, but he'd get in over Yao. Yao has a better individual NBA resume, but Manu has a much better Int'l body of work, so all things considered, Manu had a better career (injuries straight up robbed Yao)

Parker will get in, but if Parker goes, it's exclusively off of his NBA career. His Int'l career is nothing to write home about. Remember he came here at 19.

Pau, kinda the same thing. His Euroleague career prior to the NBA wasn't that big. He was a big prospect. His time with the Spanish National Team will make an impact, but if he goes, it's mostly due to the NBA part.

Manu is only borderline due to this "Reggie Miller inferiority complex". He realistically has no business in that Hall, and Yao is unquestionably much more deservin'. But ur speakin' from the voter's perspective objectively, otherwise I believe we're on the same page

The French national team may be able to do a bit of damage in Brazil... Parker, Diaw, Noah (if he plays), Fournier, Batum, etc. A bronze or silver medal would only enhance Parker's case

I've certainly not forgotten his productive prime, but even then, that hasn't warranted a nod, and not to be disrespectful, but usin' rings in this circumstance, and u usin' "if" and these fictional scenarios doesn't help ur argument any.

I don't think either of them are necessarily HOF guys. I remember a lot of those all-star games Yao got. Some of them he couldn't even walk, and others it was more or less because he was a freak specimen. 8 ASG's are 8 ASG's and at his peak he would have been Springfield bound, but no longevity. I just think Manu has a little stronger of a case.

That '04 Gold Medal in Athens IMO is HUGE. He's the only player in any HOF convo that isn't American that can say "I got a gold medal, and mainly because of me, I had Argentina as the #1 basketball country in the world." He's a reason why The Redeem Team was sorely needed in Beijing.

In my eyes Manu isn't a hall of famer either. But based on other players who have gotten in he will get in too. No doubt about that. Hell a few years ago they were talking about if Robert Horry deserved induction. This is the same hall of fame that denied Adrian Dantley and Bernard King for years. There is no real rhyme and reason of how they select these inductees.

NO

I dont believe he is a HOF'er.

He was a pretty good player for a little bit but that doesnt make him HOF material.

Im harsher on players though, than the actual people who vote on this shyt, and since he seems well liked by most of those people he will probably get in.

IMO tho, the HOF needs to be reserved for those that DOMINATED and made a huge impact on the game, otherwise you end up with what the NBA has now (what theyre currently doing) and cheapening the Hall.

Like I said, dude was a good player, but that is simply not enough to be in the upper echelon of greats like a Bill Russell, Wilt, Karl Malone, Jordan, Kareem, Kobe, Bron etc.

Problem is there are so many greater talents that have already played and made more impact. But the NBA has watered down the standard qualifications :manny:

Who cares.

Does he still not have an Olympic Medal, 3 rings, various awards and even some pretty good stats. Pioneered the Eurostep too.

BS, AI was doing the euro step before Ginobli was even in the league. I don't know why everyone wants to give Manu credit for that.

Because it's the Basketball Hall of Fame (Euro Love) and not the NBA Hall of Fame. :shaq2:

See, this right here tells u all u need to know about Ginobili's transcendence. This catchphrase/argument would NEVER be used for foos like James and Bryant.

First off I actually thought for the most part the finals were officiated fairly with one or two bad calls. IMO this the Heat first legit title. but I digress

.

They can't keep using the Refs to fix games over and over.

This time they flipped it and used Popovich and maybe Ginobli.

So heat have 0 legit titles.

Imagine Kobe or Lebron in a Euro league for a good portion of their careers :kobe:

Kobe would average 45 pts a game and bron would average 35 and 20 for whole seasons :russ:

Not to mention the championships theyd be bringing home every year
