I know I know late career baseball deals are the worst, but I still am excited about this from my sawks standpoint

as a big prospect guy, price being a former #1 overall prospect and pick in the draft means he, if anyone, has the type of pedigree and skill set to carry on as he ages. he's a true act and has been consistently for years now. love him since he was a player at vandy

We got to the playoffs.

Daniel norris just beat cancer

And is nothing more than a 4th startet on most teams
I wouldn't be surprised if Stroman is a 20 game winner in two years. I'm not hurt not resigning Price at what he wanted. And the trade was worth it as the Jays were a few bad managing decisions from being the World Series and Skydome went from 15,000 fans a game to being sold out every game. Definitely a good business decision from the team standpoint. You walk around Toronto in the summer and you see Blue Jays gear EVERYWHERE.

31 million a year, as soon as my son is old enough in teaching him to pitch
A 30 year old pitcher getting such a deal. I guess Ruben is not focusing on first base duties, he's dabbling again.

Yeah rejuvenated the fan base.

I would have liked price back at even like 23 mill but 30 is to much.

Stroman, Estrada, dikkey, happ, Sanchez I'll take it. If pitching is bad at the deadline a stud guy will always be available

All the hitters are back next year so eh

Exactly. Price wanted too much money. Rogers doesn't want to spend like that, so signing Price to a deal that big would mean sacrificing elsewhere and ultimately making the team worse with him than what we are without him right now.

Stroman is a fukking beast. He got the juice. One of the best fastballs I've ever SEEN. And Estrada is a steady presence whose style allows him to pitch a lot of innings. The back end of that rotation...well hopefully dikkey can keep it going for another year. We will probably have to acquire a starter at some point. Hutch ain't got the juice--not mentally tough enough.

The big issue with the Blue Jays though is that their bullpen is real thin on talent and John Gibbons doesn't know how to manage late game situations.
