90% are white. The only subreddits with more black presence are r/blackfellas and r/blackladies
I wouldn't know how many but it's certainly not all white people.
Either way thecoli considers to be bizzaro world for me where I end up using the same arguments I used to argue against because of the irrationality and extreme level of opinions here.

How does The Salon compare to those banned subreddits?
It doesn't compare, but I reference the Salon as a potential example of a forum within a larger group of forums that someone might not like, or find distasteful, or whatever.

I don't know how reddit operates, how they go about monitoring 6,000 active forums.
But I don't think you condemn a website with thousands of forums on it based on 3 or 4 awful ones.

Why are we looking at 4 banned racist websites as indicative of the website as a whole?
Why aren't people looking at the several thousand websites that ARE NOT racist as indicative of the website as a whole?

How can someone say "Well, they allowed these 4 forums to operate for a while, they're racist" when they can easily say "They allowed these 5,900 non-racist forums to operate...."

It seems to me that people here are just digging in their heels because they need something to be upset about, or something to troll on.

People on Thecoli act like Reddit is a monolith

And you do the exact same thing here except with little proof. Reddit has plenty of evidence of being more bigoted and obstinate than this place. At least when it comes to race related (black) discussions.

Those racist subreddits started fukking with their money because of the internet backlash. So it finally reached the point where it's costing them more to keep those racist clicks and sell ads than it is to ban them as they're painting reddit as racist and potentially hampering their growth... As with everything.. $$$$$$$

What's distasteful or offensive about The Salon? I still don't get how this compares to multiple offensive subreddits on a site that has 170 million visitors every month?

I said "potentially" as in hypothetically.
It's not relevant.

You want to attack that 1 particular sentence rather than the overall theme of what I said in all those posts?

you're going off point. the original question was why did reddit accommodate racist and pedos. you are not entitled to free speech on someone elses website.

I am entitled to as much free speech on a website as the owner allows, that's why I can say shyt on one website and not say the same on another, reddit tried to be a bastion of free speech and allow subreddits that would normally be considered controversial on there but as they got bigger they saw the problem it created and are changing their policies to reflect it
