Hammer I am!Ya people think hammer was soft cuz of the music. Hammer is what a g is. He went broke paying his friends. Took his town on the road with him, gave them jobs. Don't let the music fool you, hammer had killers in his crew
You missing the point my nikka.
I ain't talking about away from the stage or if he was a chump. I'm talking about the precedent he set for himself as an artist when he first came out with the silly shyt like the parachute pants
When he switched it up nikkas were laughing at him with that funky headhunter shyt.
I feel ya but think about this...If he was still wearing them genie pants by '93-'94 and doin the pop stuff he did in '89-'90 we'd have been clownin him even worse...All that to say even the 1st album was closer to some hood shyt back then than we might remember, so Funky Headhunter wasn't really that much of a stretch he just took it back to the Oaktown on they ass
That's real shyt, fans are just fickle as all hell, they woulda clowned him either way.
I personally was real interested at what he was gonna sound like as a Death Row artist.
That pumps and a bump video was+

That really did happen, but not exactly how you said. One of my homies
named Todd Brown is signed to Hammers label as an Jodeci r&b type singer.
He was actually there when it happened. I guess from what Todd said when
he came back was this..
Hammer, Todd, and about 6 other people were trying to have a little
something to eat when Ice Cube and about 2-3 of his fellas came in also.
Todd said that Cube was trying to mean mugg and started talking shyt
under his breath. Then Hammer got up and said "speak up nikka if youre a
man" and Cube replied "I didnt say nothin." So nothing happened from
then until Cube got up to leave. As Cube walked out he said some shyt
like "punk bytch" and thats when Hammer got up and checked his ass. And
according to Todd, Cube replied with some shyt like "I dont want any
trouble" after Hammer checked his ass..
3rd base came close to getting killed until Michael Concepcion stepped in (or rolled up) and stopped itFor the record I'm not saying Hammer was a complete lame but the 3rd Bass situation sums up exactly who he was. He was a millionaire and couldn't pay to get them killed because Michael Concepcion said "fukk that". Hammer was just a guy with money, Concepcion actually had respect.
