Stoudemire had his best years after the surgery
His best year was his 3rd year....the year before microfracture...he was only 22 averaging 26 & 9 on 56% shooting.
Physically, he wasn't the same after microfracture. His athleticism as a PF before the microfracture was phenomenal. After the procedure, his athleticism dropped from phenomenal, down to just "very good".
It's a testament to how much of a beast he was to still put up the numbers he did post-microfracture.
I have no doubt in my mind, had Amare stayed healthy, developing at the rate he was developing at, he would've been a 30ppg player at some point in his career.
Never seen a combo of speed, power, and finesse like that.
He was like a combination of Blake Griffin, James Worthy, Shawn Kemp, and Antonio Mcdyess--With the first step of an elite SG.
His relentlessness/aggression when attacking the basket was maniacal
Go to 5:07...Thats after he had he microfracture-- playing against some of the best big man prospects in the country
The quality is shytty on this one, but Amare did Yao Ming and the Rocket so dirty, it made

really go
The quickness, the ferociousness

....I was ready to stan faithfully
Any PF he had out in space was a mismatch
