Service, if you are savvy, can get you way more cash in a shorter amount of time. You will work your ass off, but it will feel more "earned."
Problem is fluctuating pay depending on how tight or scarce customers are.
Retail..you get a discount??? The only upside is that theoretically you won't have to rip and run as much as with a restaurant job.
Downsides? You got hired as a cashier. They need help in clothing? Guess who gets to step in and try to help a customer when you don't know anymore about the
area than they do. Your job is 100% whatever they want you to do for that day, which can include cleaning a toilet.
While service has "down" periods, retail has entire down seasons. Get sent home early because they are overstaffed, brehette(though that can happen in service too)
They assign you 15 hours total for the next week which doesn't even cover your gas and half your rent. Too bad, nothing can be done.
