Lil bubble, lil aaliyah/chili titties. I'm 23 but look 15. No working at Hooters for me. :mjcry:

:noah:

On a serious note, serving is quick cash. Can be weird hours though, most people I've seen in the serving industry turn into functioning alcoholics. Retail is slow and steady, most people I know that worked extensive retail say they'll never go back.

I've done both. Right now my service job (hostess, but trying to be a waitress or bartender) is full time with benefits at the airport. Retail was always part time low pay. I don't like my hours and management is incompetent but the money is okay for me right now until I get something better or I go do what I really want to do.

Either way, if you're a people person unlike me, you'll succeed at both. Tips are great though.

Salesperon in a retail store that offers commissions. Just be knowledgeable about the product and good at pushing it and you can eat well. + working around clothes/electronics is more enjoyable then working around food all day.

Retail, been there for almost 2 years. The women are fukking c*nts and give no fukks about you. They will leave the dressing room looking like shyt because they don't have to clean it up. They will try to use expired coupons on you and try to make you do things thats against store policy and get mad when you tell them you can't do that because of that reason. As of thanksgiving, you have no life outside of that store. You will hate everything about retail.

The only perk is mentally shopping as you work, so when you're ready to shop you know know exactly where to go and what to grab.

Bottom line: retail is demonic.

Try a temp agency.

Jesus christ the arguments I got into with customers...Even at a 24 hour store we almost had to call the cops because these belligerent folks were upset(they were already drunk)
that we would not sell them beer. Can't sell beer to drunk folks. And it was 3 am. We stop selling alcohol at 1am:snoop:

Service = more money, degrading ass customers, slave driver bosses, shytty tippers

Retail = Less money, bullshyt holiday hours (Black Friday to New Years Day is literally hell on earth), easy to meet people, shopping acumen goes through the roof most places you won't work a second after 10pm unless its a inventory day...which fukkING BLOWS. Always ask for the opening shift or morning shifts.

I worked both (Service only for a hot second) then retail for a year. Then i was a barista which is a strange hybrid of the two. I can honestly say Finals week were like the college equivalent of black friday and I wanted to blow my brains out. 12 hour split shift plus class, plus studying for finals, plus TRYING to have a social life = death.

I was a bus boy and did deliveries back in high school and the tips are key tbh. I'd wager that the base rate for retail is higher but the potential for tips earned in the restaurant field could offset that...

Oh and you might wanna consider the fukked up hours in retail...I know girls who work in it and they hate it.
