I'm tired of pretending like I care about these people or their problems. In the grand scheme of things I don't care at all. Our tax dollars subsidize their existence and they have the nerve to get mad at us . What's wrong with getting a education, that will improve their lives? What's wrong with getting some technical skills that will help remove their dependence on manufacturing?

What I find funny about bringing those types of jobs back though is the environment (and mistreatment/disrespect of women) it tends to breed. Entitlement either way.

Trump's fatal flaw with jobs was talking about bringing them back. A job is not like a gold brick that gets moved around from factory to factory. They can't just send an aircraft carrier to China and load the jobs back into containers. They're gone. Trump would have been smarter to devise a plan to give these people something else to do... enable the creation of new jobs. Hopefully somebody on his team will put that plan in action.

1. Statistically speaking white people are still better off than pretty much everybody else and run the country, so this "Obama shytted on white people" thing doesn't actually reflect reality, it's rhetoric they've bought into. If anything black voters get their issues ignored by the DNC, meanwhile Obama spent most of his presidency walking on eggshells for fear that he might accidentally say something that white people don't like. But I do agree that perception is a problem and needs to be addressed.

2. Most of them are a$$holes anyway. I know, I live in Michigan.

Dems have to buck up and stop making an enemy out of American businesses. If they can collaborate with big and small business to spur job growth they will be skraight. No need to bring jobs back when we can make em right here.

I don't disagree about the alt-right being powerful, but that's why we need somebody that can get more of the Dem base out to vote. Moving right in order to try to appease these guys is the opposite of a successful strategy.





Offended the "moderate" base how? Anything anybody does to help anyone that's nonwhite/gay/etc is somehow offensive? Obama spent half of his presidency going out of his way to appease them to the point of not even addressing black issues until he was forced. And again, the Dem party has NOT moved to the left so if "moderates" are offended about something that's not it. Economically they're as far right as they've ever been.
