once you get to that 15 plus years area.. mostly its all just padded stats.
you cant let every 15 year plus qb in the HOF. Phillip Rivers is the poster boy
THANK YOU!
The
career matters. What people are doing with Stafford is basically forgiving
12 years of performance because "well, he played for the Lions".
The accumulated stats don't matter to me. Tell me what a guy was at his best.
To his credit, Stafford is playing the best football of his career at the end of his career. How this measures up to the first 12 years is where the debate is, but the first 12 years did happen and does matter as much as this LA run does as well.
Stafford probably going to be 1st Team All-Pro and MVP this year. That changes the conversation. And if he wins another chip it's even more clear he gets in.
I will concede that I didn't foresee him having the season he's having, and if he gets accomplishments he's never had (All-Pro, MVP), and wins a second title, yes, that changes the conversation.
I've been on the "no, not a Canton guy" belief, and he runs this season off, now its a debatable conversation. Still doesn't lock him in to me----->just as a reminder, Eli has 2 and I very much don't think he deserves to be in Canton.
So this year doesn't lock Stafford in for me....but it does alter his candidacy in a positive sense.
