You are the one who is giving him power... you can't reconcile the fact that someone who is clearly more knowledgeable about hip hop has a different opinion of Rick Ross than you do. You used to not even be able to claim Hip Hop without practicing and being skilled in one of the elements. And no Internet rapping doesn't count. Being in the streets, which as far as I can tell none of these supposed message board culture warriors are, doesn't make you a rap authority either. Street cats are street cats not rappers and they don't claim Hip Hop either. Being tall doesn't make you an NBA player. Singing in the shower doesn't make you Drake. Being Black doesn't make you a pivotal figure in Hip Hop.
