Why doesn't he hold credibility with you? That's what I don't understand. He knows street music. He gives everything he listens to a fair shot... fairer than most "street nikkas". I think you are mixing up acknowledging someone's credibility with agreeing with them.

:snoop: forget it man. carry on tho

Givin MF's like this dude a "voice" in reviwing hip hop music is the reason why Macklemore won a grammy. But keep on puttin stock into dudes like this and their opinion of hip hop. Just keep it up, keep relenquishing your power over our music.

How am I giving this dude a voice? A lot of times I don't even agree with his reviews. He has no effect on my taste.

You are the one who is giving him power... you can't reconcile the fact that someone who is clearly more knowledgeable about hip hop has a different opinion of Rick Ross than you do. You and all the other people freaking out over this review are the ones giving him power. You can't even explain WHY you don't take him seriously.

the people complaining are mostly fukking toys and real talk.
all this fake verbiage I keep hearing of people say the culture.
when, they are not a bboy is a damn joke.
if you don't care and not a real skilled actual component of this culture.
don't talk that culture shyt.....
you just a fukk'n rap fan.

This right here.

You used to not even be able to claim Hip Hop without practicing and being skilled in one of the elements. And no Internet rapping doesn't count. Being in the streets, which as far as I can tell none of these supposed message board culture warriors are, doesn't make you a rap authority either. Street cats are street cats not rappers and they don't claim Hip Hop either. Being tall doesn't make you an NBA player. Singing in the shower doesn't make you Drake. Being Black doesn't make you a pivotal figure in Hip Hop.

I watched the video and dude is a clown. Where the hell was the review? All he did was talk shyt. he said nothing about what made the album bad. Just a bunch of corny jokes. I doubt he even listened to it. The guys review is 100x faker than you all claim Ross to be.

bruh, i have said over and over why i dont take him seriously. maybe u should go back in this thread and read what I have said. And how the hell am i giving him power by simply disagreeing with his views on rap? :what: And what makes him more knowledgeable about hip hop than me? How am I "freaking out?" :what:

ONCE AGAIN! he can have his views and i can have mine. What part of that dont u get? Why do i HAVE to agree with him?

What the hell are u talkin about. Hip hop was born in the gatdamn streets. Hip Hop music/culture comes from the streets. Street cats are rappers. Does 50 cent, Mac Dre, Snoop, DAZ, Meek Mill count as street? They represent hip hop. You dont know what the hell u are talkin about :camby:

You're caught up in images that White people have sold you. Street cats didn't start respecting Hip Hop until there was money in it. There wasn't money in until White people decided to sell it to you. Regardless of who currently represents your ideal of a Black rapper, being a thug, gangster, pimp, hustler, or stick up kid was never a prerequisite for being part of the Hip Hop community.
