So you're saying if Fantano was an unabashed fan of street music, doing what any other fan would do, with the same goofy demeanor/appearance and suburban (we're all assuming) background - he would be qualified to judge street music? Even though he don't know the first thing about the actual lifestyle? He just knows about the lifestyle of a fan?

I would agree with you on this (although I don't think he needs to live the lifestyle of a fan) but I want to make sure I'm not misunderstanding you.

The second part definitely describes me well - last time I was regularly going out - Bush (W) was president. I don't have a problem with people having fun with Migos in the club. I'm not gonna sit here and act like I went to get a drink everytime they threw a Lil Jon record on (back when he was hot) - but I never confused what was hot in the club with who was really holding the crown on some hip-hop shyt. And for the record - Versace/Hannah Montana was awful. Just fukkign awful.

basically, you have people trying to discredit guys like stretch Armstrong.
who is into street rap, and was a legendary duo with bobbito.
to the point stretch's fascination with street based rap.

yet, every week I am sent a link of their show.
plus, if not for stretch and bobbito making the enfamous live verse on the air vinyl.
the format would never have had a profitable return on wax.

plus, provided the catalyst of battling to the point.

fantano, definitely knows more about rap than most people.
it is a reason actual artist in rap say he is the best as well.
plus, look to his video reviews, as an authority.
in the same vein like the source was in the early days.
when, it comes to comparing how he is viewed.
as it pertains to video reviews from youtube videos on albums.
he is the only reviewer out of any publication.
that is not the original great guard from the source days like, upski, scoop, etc.
that is always dead on, with his reviews on rap, and other genre's.

Fact: Hip Hop is a black music genre with its origins in black street culture
Fact: Fantano is a white surburban hipster cac who has not even laid one foot in the field
Fact: Hip Hop is a diverse genre withh many sub genres
