Read the op.

It also says if he's at 100 pitches he can get pulled. If you're pitching to traffic all the time, you're gonna burn through 100 pretty quickly.
I read all of that & don’t agree with it

Telling teams how to manage & strategize in game is a bad idea. Considering how sports gambling has ramped up this is horrible

like I said, I don't know if this is the way to do it, but these teams have to figure out how build up arm strength for these pitchers. I still haven't figured out how 100 pitches became the WARNING! CALL BULLPEN! number besides it being a round number. 120 pitches for big time pitchers was standard. Pitchers throwing 200-250 innings routinely was not uncommon. The articles all state that to a man, scouts and GMs feel like they can't go back because they've prioritized max velocity on pitches instead of pacing a pitcher out. They treat starters like closers now and it leads to what we're seeing.

I don’t watch baseball consistently & I’m as casual as they come.

With that said isn’t not allowing a pitcher to be taken out the same as benching?

Imagine a QB not being able to get pulled for playing bad. A wing player who can’t score being forced to stay in
From what Manfred said they will be able to take them out if they are shytting up the park, but what they are trying to prevent from happening is the constant recycling of pitchers for strategic purposes. Remember back in the day one of the highlights of a baseball game was what was going to be the starting pitcher duel, was somebody going to be able to pitch a perfect game, etc. Now what happens is they may pull a pitcher in the 2nd inning if they want to approach the game differently, if they want to preserve arms by using pitch counts, etc. So it takes away from the "spectacle".

a Good manger will mean more now. Even more responsibility

like if they implement that double hook

do u pull the pitcher because he gave u 3 runs in the 5th with 1 out left in risk of losing Othani DHing

thats a helluva decision to make lol

That goes against the game's strategy. At that point just ban the intentional walk :yeshrug:

It's like saying in basketball you can't foul someone in the dying seconds of a close game to get them to the line.

When pitchers were walking Ken Griffey Jr. in the 90s Lou Pinella put Edgar Martinez and Jay Buhner behind him, that's how you combat the intentional walk. Now they have no choice but to pitch to the next hitters. That sh*t quickly stopped and Griffey had 56 homers in 1997.
yeah and you cant really ban an intentional walk anyway

sure you can ban the relatively new way to never pitch to a guy who you want IBBd.... but then pitchers will just throw four pitches three feet away from strikezone. cant really prove intent there

this sounds dumb af

you shouldn’t be forced to leave your starter in for 6 innings

what if its the 5th inning, pitcher has only given up 3 runs, bases loaded, and the batter coming up is 2-2 with a HR and double so far and he historically hits well off my pitcher

You mean to telling me I can’t bring in a reliever?

I gotta just sit back and watch dude blow the game?

This is gonna be a disaster :heh:

Naw, he actually trying to do shyt that gets people to watch.

Whether you agree with the changes or not, he is trying to do his job. Meanwhile the NBA is still devolving into a 3 point shootout.

So what do you want the NBA to do about that?

So what do you want the NBA to do about that?

Try something!

If I was getting paid tens of millions of dollars to run the league I sure as shyt would put more thought into it with legit proposals. More thought than I’m willing to do now on a free message board.
