So taking less shots per game is now a slight against a player? Kobeism is amazing

You do realize that Kobe scored 62 on 31 shots right and 61 on 31 as well?I'm not using a scale, but you need more input to get more output. Kobe scored 81 by taking close to 60 shots (when you include shot attempts that turned into free throws). He would not have scored 81 if he had taken half as many shots that night.
Curry just scored 50 on 30 shots. While that doesn't necessarily mean he'd have 100 with 60 shots, he would certainly be making some of those additional 30 shots.

There's no magic formula for scaling scoring. The ballistic 55+ point outbursts over the past 40 years have been limited to select few players for a reason.
Steph could, LeBron could, Durant could, Melo could. etc, etc...but have they gone for 35+ppg for an entire season or scored 60+ multiple times? Nope.
Off topic but do you think Klay is better than prime Reggie Miller? I would make a thread but these cats bytch and moan when I make Warriors threads.Nor, Jordan, or Kobe has played with another shooter on the permiter who can arguably shoot as good as them. it would be like putting a prime Ray Allen next to Kobe.
curry is the greatest shooter of all time tho. I'll give him that.
We're talking prime Kobe, so yes, we'd be covering those two seasons. He had the green light and was at the peak of his skills and athletic ability(age 26-27). He had a few more ridiculous games before that including the 56pts in 34 minutes vs Memphis and 55pts on the Wizards but was obviously restricted because how the team was constructed. So you're arguing that Kobe only had that capability for two years right? Because in the years before and after those 2006 and 2007 seasons, he never duplicated that. Is it coincidence that his best scoring bursts came in the years he shot the most?
And Kobe took 40-45 shots in that 62 point game. Fga doesn't measure total opportunities.
no but he could have brought up prime lebron but he didntI did. No one right now is comparable to what Curry is doing now so why compare them? Horry is saying he's even better than the fairy tale stories of Kobe's prime.
Do you want to argue that Kobe wasn't better than current Durant, Westbrook, LeBron and there was no reason to bring him up? I'm cool with that one![]()
See the problem is you're confining Kobe's prime to the two years that he was taking every shot imaginable on a team that wasn't good enough to have him sitting out 4th quarters very often. We're talking prime Kobe, so yes, we'd be covering those two seasons. Of course the scoring will go up with shots taken. But I'm saying that you need the actual ability(ie skills set, stamina, mentality) to get a high amount of shots off. People always throw out the players I mentioned the past post but they've yet to show me they could actually do it. Call them shot jackers, ballhogs or whatever but in the modern era Jordan and Kobe are the only two players to put up mass amounts of shots on reasonable efficiency for entire seasons and their scoring totals reflect that.
The shyt nikkas say for attention these days
I mean we can extend it out to '09 if you want. That 4 season span from '06-'09 is Kobe's prime without a doubt. I don't understand how he can be penalized for taking shots. That team wasn't winning the majority of their game without him doing exactly that.See the problem is you're confining Kobe's prime to the two years that he was taking every shot imaginable on a team that wasn't good enough to have him sitting out 4th quarters very often.
We aren't talking about DeAndre Jordan shooting 70% and being a scoring title threat if they just gave him more shots. We are talking about Curry, a guy with shot selection asas Kobe's yet he makes them at a much higher percentage.
Curry takes 7 or 8 fewer shots per game than prime Kobe. Give Curry 7 extra shots and even if he misses every one of them, he's more efficient than Kobe![]()
Breh, Steph sit out a lot of 4th quarters. He could easily get more shots up if games were closer.I mean we can extend it out to '09 if you want. That's the thing, you can't...well obviously you are...just give him 7 or 8 more shots on a consistent basis and he say oh yeah, he'll score more. That's all I'm saying. It is very difficult to put up 24-27 shots game after game.
You can take a guess, but I've yet to see any of these guys do it.
OK breh. Like I don't know how many minutes he plays.Breh, Steph sit out a lot of 4th quarters. He could easily get more shots up if games were closer.
