Smart marks are worse marks than regular marks. How could they have underdog Bryan overcome the Authority and win the belt at WM if the Authority wasnt holding him down? They wanted the fans to feel like they had power by getting behind Bryan, so they had to make everyone mad by having Dave win the RR. You see what happens to people that get over on their own, and when it doesnt fit the plan.

Think you know more than a family that's been doing this since the 1950's brehs

Honest question: If Punk hadn't left, what would he have done from then until SummerSlam? Was there a concrete idea? :ld:

Allegedly, he'd have gone over Hunter in that feud, then feuded with Wyatt over the summer (basically what Jericho did, except that Punk would go over. As much as I like Punk, that would have been moronic if true).

Dude, Batista was pencilled in to get the belt until like mid-February. For fukk's sake, it wasn't a slow burn meta-work.

I wish people would stop acting like a). People can't interpret what's in front of them at least some of the time and b). The McMahon family are untouchable geniuses. For every one hot act they hit on (usually forced by some outside circumstance), there are probably 5 or so concepts that they completely whiff on because they're completely out of touch. Check their track record.

5 to 1 flop/hit ratio is great for any entertainment co.

The company you're defending:

-Thought that Tom Magee was the next big thing.
-Wanted to push Lex Luger over Bret Hart.
-Attempted to saddle Steve Austin with gimmicks like "The Ringmaster" and "Chilly McFreeze."
-Saddled The Rock with that awful "Blue Chipper" gimmick that nearly ruined his career.
-Killed Jericho dead when he was hot in 1999 because "he didn't know how to work" (Dude was supposed to be a major player in the WrestleMania 2000 build. Ended up in a midcard triple threat).
-fukked up the most unfukkuppable storyline in history with the Invasion.
-Nearly released John Cena before Stephanie randomly heard him rapping before 2002's Halloween SmackDown.
-Tried everything in their power to get CM Punk released before he got to the main roster, and probably would have cut him AFTER he got to the main roster if not for a timely intervention by Shawn Michaels.
-Tried to give Vladimir Kozlov the WWE Championship when fans were DYING for Jeff Hardy to win it.
-Had CM Punk job clean three straight times on PPV when he was WHITE hot in 2011.

...I mean, I could really go on and on and on.

They're successful damn near in spite of themselves, rather than because of any wrestling genius the Stamford brain trust has.
