Because they had no intentions of releasing any of this shyt. While the fanboys focused on xbox features, they ignored the lack of features there system had. Then hid behind the rhetoric that the PS4 is all about the games

Xbox outshining PS4 badly on that front, so they scrambling and making claims of features that are nowhere near ready to be implemented. Xbox One is "balanced" created to handle all this shyt (Tru Story)

Sony hypes up the most basic of things, Microsoft gives preview's every month of significant upgrades to the xbox and xbox one and its par for the course, sony is like "Big frimware upgrade in a few weeks!" Sony fans go nuts.
