It was great to hear eXquire on an El-P track again, hopefully that means we might hear ex actually rapping on some El-P beats again in the near future.

Agreed.

Also thought I was the only one not crazy about RTJ. They seem to get so much universal love. I think their music is dope and I think they’re both super talented. But neither is my favorite emcee and EL-P despite being a really good producer has always never been one of my personal favorites.

I wanna give this album a shot though.

I liked some El-p stuff back in the day but his music hasn't done anything for me in damn near 20 years. I'm a big fan of Killer Mike's solo stuff so I'd rather he just be solo or if he's gonna work with El-p at least drop another "R.A.P. Music" which I loved.

Fred.

JU$T is definitely the lead single. #'s 3, 4, 6, 7, and 8 are bangers.

Was not expecting to hear Gangsta Boo.

Wonder why she's not credited on the track?

Then again, I don't think Trina was on Panther Like A Panther.

The complaints about El-P's rapping I can understand but I can't fukk with people dissing his production. While I do feel his RTJ production is nowhere near as well constructed and finetuned as RAP Music and C4C folks kill me talking down on his 'EDM' production.

El-P's sound is a unique sound and it has allowed RTJ to build a unique lane within HipHop but also outside. You don't have to be a fan of the style that does not mean the music is not good.

El-P's shyt now just sounds like a neutered version of some Death Grips shyt. His beats used to be cinematic and atmospheric.

The whole vibe is off. They stumbled into some success with the P4K hipster crowd and are now running it into the ground.

The whole "I'll punch you in the face" shyt is corny as fukk as well

RAP Music seems to have been an anomaly as far as his production goes, cause every RTJ album sounds like something an underground rapper from 2007 passed on. Stuff that was given to Vinnie Paz or a 6th tier Wu-Tang affiliate.

El-Ps old sample based production style was better. For example the stuff he did for Co Flow and Can Ox was really weird, dark NY grimyness.

I like some of what he does now, but it's usually unrecognizable as being the same producer who made shyt like this:

Love the Cann Ox track, whole album is incredible.

This is my favorite El-P track, off of Fantastic Damage:

And I agree, 1997-2005 is my favorite era El Producto beats. He did some amazing work for Cage and Mr Lif too during those years. The beats were so atmospheric and truly sounded futuristic and like nothing else, in a good way.
