:deadmanny:precisely.

Its like this, I like EL-P and Killer is straight, but RTJ ran it's course with the first two albums (mainly the first one). The problem with RTJ as a whole is that they are predicable as hell. Every song has to do with the following:

  • Killer Mike threatening to punch somebody
  • El-P gibberish
  • Killer Mike saying fukk the police (:sas1:)
  • El-P gibberish
  • A guest appearance washing the fukk out of both rappers
  • El-P gibberish
It gets tiresome and on the real, the group is safe AF compared to other rap groups that actually about what they say instead of revolutionary hustling :camby:
I agree with almost everything in this post:ehh:

Disagree on them(really just Killer Mike I'm talking bout here) being safe tho

If it wasn’t for EL, Killer Mike rap career would be pretty much non existent today. And I’m a Mike fan from pledge allegiance. And that future comment was wack. What makes RTJ good to me, is because no one sounds like their shyt. And both artists can spit.

:unimpressed: Based on what?

Mike had a solid independent fanbase in the vein of cats like Spitta and Krit, pre-streaming era....the Grind Time movement would thrive in this era...granted he wouldn’t have the droves of corny white boy pitchfork types or white girl baristas with septum piercings that live in gentrified neighborhoods as fans that say shyt like “omg...run the Jewels is one of my favorite bands”...but he certainly would have a career...and would actually put out more listenable music that was more relevant to actual core rap demographics...instead of making shyt that sounds like the type of shyt they play during scene transitions in tv shows like HBO’s Silicon Valley

My favorite RTJ album. Sometimes El P does a little too much with the beats on this one it’s mostly just raw sh1t

The ooh la lah joint though makes me want to hear a RTJ album with all outside production. Could be dope as fukk

this was there other outside one. Dope too

El-P produced that track tho...

They still making albums. RTJ is not a good duo. Mike can rap. But el-p is one of the worst rappers of all time. 20+ years in the game and still can't rap for shyt. And his production is overrated, same fukking soulless EDM garbage. These dudes like el-p made the underground hip hop damn near unlistenable.

I like his production, but I wish I could get RTJ without EL-P’s verses. I hate his voice and attempts at flows.

Ehh. Better than RTJ3 but that's not saying much. It sounds like movie trailer music, something I'd listen to to coincide with the movie or if I want something hype to play video games to. Outside of that, there's not much replay value. I found that issue with RTJ3 and like some of said, they became predictable.

Out of Sight with Chainz tho :obama:
The release date of this project alone sets this in stone :dead:
Wouldn't surprise me if Mike pushed this up. I know their release history, they always drop in December.

I'll admit that I was uncomfortable with him and TI getting up there and saying that shyt

But again, much like with Obama, you Coli dudes stay spouting this and that but no one on here uses their real names OR lets us know the organizations that they're a part of and what they've done comparably speaking to Killa Mike. That dude is actually out there putting in work for ALL BLACK PEOPLE.

So with that said....that track JU$T is FIRE and RTJ4 is pretty decent. It's not as good as the first one but I like it better than RTJ2 and 3

I don't even like RTJ but....this gotta be one of the most random, out of left field comparisons I've ever seen.

Am I missing something? :dahell:

Fred.
Agreed.

Also thought I was the only one not crazy about RTJ. They seem to get so much universal love. I think their music is dope and I think they’re both super talented. But neither is my favorite emcee and EL-P despite being a really good producer has always never been one of my personal favorites.

I wanna give this album a shot though.
